Celebrate Día del Niño (Children’s Day) with a joyful day of literacy, music, and family fun at Be My Neighbor Day at Central Library. Families are invited to explore activities that encourage kids to read, write, talk, sing, and play in a welcoming and bilingual environment.
The event features concerts, storytimes in English and Spanish, games, art activities, and hands-on learning experiences throughout the library. Kids can also meet the beloved Daniel Tiger and enjoy free books and giveaways.
Highlights of the day include a Sensory Hour from 9–10 AM, bilingual storytimes every hour, and live performances from the Grammy Award-winning duo 123 Andrés at 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Children can dance, explore Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood-themed activities, create art, get temporary tattoos, and write thank-you letters to local first responders.
Families are also encouraged to bring new or opened packages of diapers to donate to the Indiana Diaper Bank.
Parking is available in the Central Library parking garage (entrance on Pennsylvania Street) and nearby street parking.
This event is presented in partnership with WFYI and supported by community partners including PNC Grow Up Great, Fred Rogers Productions, Indiana 529, the Indiana Dental Association, St. Joseph Hearing + Speech, and Indy Eleven.
