Bring the little ones to explore nature! Learn about a specific nature topic and then head outside to explore the subject in the park. Dress for the weather – they will try to go out every month! Give your children the love of nature.

Ages: Best for preschoolers, ages 3 to 5

Wild Turkeys
It’s Thanksgiving time, so you see lots of decorations with turkeys. You will learn about these native birds through fun activities and then go on a hike looking for things that turkeys need to survive.

Winter Birds
Where are the birds that we saw over the summer and what are these new birds that we see? You will identify birds that like to spend their winters with us. After a small craft, you will head outside to find them.

Who Hibernates?
Do the animals in Cool Creek Park hibernate? You’ll learn about those that do, those who don’t, and the in-between. Bundle up for their hike as you look for good hibernation places throughout the park!

Snowflakes
What is a snowflake? How are they made? What kind of snow makes a good snowball? You will explore these questions, complete their snowflakes craft, and then go outside for a snowball fight (weather permitting).
