Did you know that Hendricks County will be in the path of totality during the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024? In an event that is as rare as it is thrilling, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park is proud to present the “Race to the Eclipse,” in partnership with the Town of Brownsburg and Visit Hendricks County.

As anticipation builds for the 2024 total solar eclipse, where the moon will completely obscure the sun, all eyes will be on Central Indiana and the unique vantage point it offers. The “Race to the Eclipse” not only capitalizes on racing but also provides an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to witness the eclipse within the path of totality.

  • 5K Fun Run
    • Check-In: 9:00 AM
    • Start Time: 10:00 am
  • Main Event 
    • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Eclipse
  • Partial Eclipse Begins: 1:50 PM
  • Full Eclipse Begins: 3:06 PM
  • Total Eclipse Ends: 3:09 PM
  • Partial Eclipse Ends: 4:23 PM

  • The event itself is FREE for all attendees.
  • There will be a fee for participating in the 5K run and camping (details to follow)
