Light up the cold dark season with a warm and bright holiday show! Season of Light explores the reasons humans are so fascinated with lighting up our lives during the December holiday season. It’s also an exploration of the astronomical meanings behind seasonal traditions, including the Star of Bethlehem. After the feature we will escort you through the heavens with “Clash of the Titans,” our take on a classic tale of Greek mythology, showcasing the constellation highlights of the season. Then we cap off the evening’s celestial adventure by peering through Indiana’s largest telescope, weather permitting.
Two shows are being offered beginning at 7 PM and 8 PM. The doors will open at 6:30 PM. Admission fees for public viewings are $5 for children and students under 18 and $8 for adults payable by cash or credit at the door. If the initial planetarium shows reach full capacity, we will schedule additional shows for that evening. If you find yourself attending a later show, they’ll streamline the evening for you by initiating telescope viewing right away, ensuring minimal delay during your visit. Reservations are encouraged.
After the planetarium experience, weather permitting, you’ll have the chance to observe the Sun (if daytime) and explore various celestial delights through Indiana’s largest telescope. Telescope viewing is always free and contingent on favorable weather conditions.
