Solar Eclipse 2024: Military Tribute
FREE, family-friendly event! No ticket is required. Save the date and join The Shops at Perry Crossing for a memorable experience!
Coming in 2024, our area will witness a total eclipse of the sun. Their friends at the local military branches will be collaborating with them for a moment to remember. Guests can expect their Perry Rd parking lot to hold all branches of the armed forces including the Army, Army National Guard, Navy, Air Force & Space Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Recruiters will be on-site to offer information about career opportunities with full education, travel, and benefits. They will have information for stores and restaurants that offer Military and Veteran discounts. Guests can enjoy a virtual reality experience from the Marines, try on bomb suits with the Air Force, or witness the Black Hawk being flown in by the Army National Guard (PENDING as of 3/5/24), among other activations. There’s plenty to do on the property and restaurants to visit while waiting for the solar eclipse at 3 pm.
Visit Hendricks County tourism will provide solar eclipse viewing glasses to the first 5,000 visitors (while supplies last). Visit The Shops at Perry Crossing tent at the event to pick up your pair being distributed by York Automotive staff.
They will also have a Veterans Remembered activity. Feel free to bring a photo to leave behind or write their name on the provided sheets to be displayed in a window front throughout different times of the year as a Veteran memorial at the shopping center.
