STEM Familia Fest is a free, family-centered celebration built into the SHPE National Convention in Indianapolis. The event welcomes K–12 students, parents, educators, and the broader Indianapolis community for hands-on STEM exploration, college pathways, and community resources. Families do not need to be registered for the SHPE National Convention to attend STEM Familia Fest.
What to Expect
Families can explore interactive K–12 STEM zones, robotics, coding, discovery labs, a College Exploration Pavilion, and community resource partners. Featured programming includes “It’s Not Magic, It’s Science!” with Jay Flores, FIRST Robotics demonstrations, and opportunities to meet university admissions representatives. Activities are designed primarily for K–12 students and their grown-ups, and families may spend anywhere from one to four hours exploring the event.
