On March 12, 2024, the City of Fishers broke ground on the new Fishers Community Center at Johnson Farms. The Fishers Community Center will be a gathering space for residents, bringing together health and wellness amenities like a 105,000 square-foot recreation center, an indoor playground for kids, an indoor walking track, athletic courts, a huge dog park, an aquatics facility with a two-story waterslide, and a cafe onsite. The community center is slated to be the new epicenter of the community in the City of Fishers once completed.
Fishers Community Center Opening 2025
The Fishers Community Center is projected to open in the spring of 2025. The long-anticipated project has been in the works since 2021 and was designed based on input from residents. A steering committee, chaired by Fishers City Councilor Todd Zimmerman, was formed to identify and prioritize the needs of the community. Nearly 3,500 residents completed a survey and shared the amenities they most desired in a new indoor facility; a dog park, indoor playground, track, and aquatic facility were the top items and all were included in the design.
Amenities For Residents and Non-Residents
Located on Hoosier Road near 121st Street, the new community center will be available to residents and non-residents. The center will offer memberships and day passes, with discounts for Fishers residents. Amenities including the indoor playground, indoor track, and cafe will be free to residents and non-residents.
