When the weather isn’t cooperating and the kids need to burn off some steam, one of my favorite southside places to take them is Wright’s FUNdamentals for open gym, or “FUNtime” as they call it. Developed for children ages 2-8, here’s what you can find at the Fundamentals gym:
- all your typical gymnastics equipment such as bars, balance beams, trampolines and spring tumbling strips
- ball pit
- slides
- a mini-rock climb
- sports stations for basketball, soccer & football drills
- a zip line
My kids don’t take their classes, but we’ve been enjoying FUNtime for a few years and they absolutely love it. But, if your child is enrolled in a class, you’ll get one free FUNtime each week. We typically go to the Center Grove location, but they recently opened a second Southeast Greenwood location. Two locations means there are even more opportunities for open gym to fit just about any schedule.

Each session runs for 90 minutes and the cost is $7 for members and $12 for non members. (Membership is $35 a year and gets you a discount on birthday party rentals as well) You can also save by purchasing a 10 FUNtime punch card for $50.
