Immersive Experience: The Alice – A Wonderland Adventure

alice in wonderland themed bar with two guests

The list of immersive experiences in Indianapolis just keeps growing. With virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, and even real-world experiences that incorporate all of the senses, there are activities for everyone. The Alice immersive experience is the newest participation experience in Indianapolis.

Indy with Kids received one free complimentary admission for the purpose of creating this content.

If you’re a fan of Alice in Wonderland, you’ll be delighted to know that a pop-up bar has opened up in your city that is themed entirely around this classic story. This immersive and whimsical experience is a perfect place to escape the everyday world and enter into a fantasy land, where the cocktails are just as magical as the surroundings.

Why should families pay attention to an event that’s touted as a popup cocktail entanglement?

I’ll tell you.

A small room is decorated like a cafe in a faux garden in an Alice in Wonderland themed pop-up bar. Two Alice in Wonderland characters stand behind the bar.

Alice in Wonderland Themed Immersive Experience

Before I tell you all of the nitty-gritty details about our time exploring Wonderland at the Kurt Vonnegut Library, I want you to know that there is an alcohol-free, family-friendly version of The Alice that takes place on Sundays. Just as you will with the typical performances, you’ll purchase an entry ticket, and then at the event, there are mocktail tickets for specialty beverages.

During the 21+ event times, expect a bit of raunchy humor.

When you arrive, you’re greeted by The Mad Hatter and the Rabbit who will guide you along and take you to the upstairs seating area. Or rather, you’ll head down the rabbit hole into a whole new dimension. This Alice in Wonderland-esque place is fantastic! When I tell you that the bar area is over-the-top Wonderland-style, I’m not even kidding.

What do I mean?

Every corner of the bar is decked out in whimsical decor that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into the pages of Lewis Carroll’s book. There are flowers and tea party decor everywhere. Every surface has been decorated down to the sweetest detail to give you the appearance of being in another world.

And, it’s gorgeous!

Instagrammers and parents of teens, be ready. This beautiful setting is just delightfully full and fun.
