I’ve checked in to LOT of hotels this year, 30 to be exact. If I could move into any of those hotels, it would be the JW Marriott, right smack dab in the capital city of Indianapolis.
This super luxurious hotel has the best of everything, and it’s completely affordable! We found that a lot of the time, it’s a way better value than staying outside of downtown Indy. Two restaurants, room service and an executive lounge provide so many dining options right on the property. Nestled in White River State Park, the location lends to even more dining options that are very close.
Guests can easily walk to many of the main museums, monuments and attractions that Indianapolis has to offer. A taxi or other transportation can pick you up right outside and quickly take you to some of the most popular Indy area neighborhoods and districts.
My husband and I left all of our kids behind with family, and spent a weekend indulging in luxury and relaxation at the JW Marriott. On Friday, we enjoyed a welcome snack of local cured meats and chilled Prosecco. We walked down to the on-property, upscale Italian restaurant, Osteria Pronto for dinner and then took in a beautiful evening view from the 31st floor with dessert in
the Executive Lounge (add-on package <–do it!) Then we reveled in a very restful, uninterrupted night of sleep.
Saturday was filled with leisurely shopping at Circle Center Mall, then lunch back at the hotel at the High Velocity sports bar — my husband wanted to watch his favorite college team play. Then we stopped in to a local event, did some more shopping and took a little time to connect over a few drinks at local distillery, Hotel Tango. For dinner, I wanted to try out Tastings, the wine bar. There are so many neat places that we cannot visit when we have our children with us, and this was the perfect weekend to visit quite a few of them.
Sunday morning was perfect! We slept in and then ate a full, hot
breakfast in the Executive Lounge. We lazed around the room, watching tv and making plans for the holidays and then we checked out.
I’ve been spoiled.
I’m trying to figure out how to convince my in-laws that we need them to take the children for one weekend every year, so we can have a relaxing sabbatical from the kids, and the house, and everything that is always so pressing.
Don’t we all need a weekend where we can do the things that people do when they don’t have kids? I know I don’t have to convince my husband. He’s sold.
Cheers to returning to the JW Marriott Indy in 2017.
I was provided accommodations and dining at Osteria Pronto for the purpose of conducting an Instagram takeover. I paid for all other dining and entertainment on my own. All opinions are true and belong to me. You HAVE to book a weekend with your significant other now!
