Family and Kid Friendly New Year’s Eve Events

With all the other festivities filling the month of December, it can be easy to forget the holiday that falls on the last day of the month. Make your plans now for New Year’s Eve! There are so many great places in Indianapolis to celebrate the new year with your family. Best of all, your littlest ones can join the party and still make it home for bedtime.

Indianapolis New Year’s Eve Events for Kids and Families

Check out this list of fun family-friendly events that will help you and your crew ring in the new year. Crank up Auld Lang Syne (The New Year’s Eve Song everyone doesn’t know they know), get ready for the confetti, and prepare for a great 2025.

Early NYE Celebration

New Year’s Eve at Dave & Buster’s is the place to be, with unforgettable entertainment, a buffet worthy of your last meal of the year, and Unlimited Video Game Play. Plus enjoy an all-ages ginger ale toast accompanied by a special video countdown. Grab tickets now and get ready to celebrate.

Ice Skating in Greenfield

Sessions from 11:30 am-Midnight

Celebrate outside with a skating session at downtown Greenfield’s new synthetic rink. Bring the kids early in the day or enjoy extended hours on the ice until midnight, when you can also catch the city’s fireworks display. Be sure to pre-book your time slot. $15 covers your skate rental and 90 minutes on the ice.

Noon Year’s Eve

Zionsville Nature Center

11:30 am-12:30 pm

Join the Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department at Winterfest to celebrate the New Year a little early with activities for all ages. Your family can raise a toast with some tasty juice, join in for a countdown to Noon, and party with your friends during this icy-themed celebration! Pre-registration is required.
Registration for Noon Year’s Eve is now FULL, but you can join the waitlist. This event fills up quickly, so mark your calendars now to sign up for the party in 2025 when registration opens in November.

Noon Year’s Eve

Celebrate New Year’s Eve early with your little ones. Enter the Noon Year’s Eve party with style onto the red carpet for a fun photo opp. Indulge in sweet treats, play games, listen to the live DJ, enjoy the balloon drop, and have a dance party! This event is free.

Countdown to Noon

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

10 am-2 pm

Join in a grand countdown at noon o’clock at The Children’s Museum! Grammy-nominated musician Zak Morgan will provide live music and lead countdowns at noon and 1 pm. Guests also have opportunities to create a family time capsule and learn about holiday traditions around the world. Guests will also be among the first to check out the new exhibit Memories, Wonders, and Dreams: Stories from 100 Years, celebrating the museum’s 100th anniversary. Entry is included with museum admission.

Noon Year’s Eve

Indianapolis Public Library – Lawrence Branch

Ring in the new year at the library. The Lawrence Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library will host this family-friendly celebration that includes a special story time and a balloon drop. Guests will also enjoy activities, crafts, and games throughout the library.

Noon Year’s Eve/New Year’s Eve Skate Parties

12-2:30 pm, 3-5:30 pm, 6:30-9:30 pm

Skateland is hosting three separate NYE events for the whole family. Each New Year’s Eve Party will have skating, music, food, and favors! Admission is $20 per person and includes your skate rental, unlimited cheese pizza, and an apple cider toast. All children 2-17 years old MUST wear skates at all times.

Family New Year’s Eve

Indiana State Museum

6-8:30 pm

Kick off the festivities with face painting, music, a dance party, and more. Strike a pose at one of the photo ops, visit activity stations in the galleries, get your face painted, and make sure to ride the Snowfall Express train. End the night with a balloon drop and confetti celebration at 8:30 pm. Tickets are $18 for ages 3 and up, and members receive a 25% discount. Those using the Access Pass can purchase $8 tickets. Capacity is limited, so reserve your tickets today for Family New Year’s Eve!

Noon Year’s Eve

12-6 pm

One of our favorite Central Indiana indoor playgrounds is hosting a Noon Year’s Eve bash just for local families! Admission is $20 per family and includes lunch, snacks, a movie screening, bounce houses, games, crafts, a balloon drop with a milk and cookies toast, and time on the playground. Don’t miss this exciting afternoon in Anderson!

As the holiday season comes to a close, make the most of this one last big celebration.
