As an active family with two young boys, we have gotten to know the Riverview Health Emergency Room & Urgent Care facilities quite well over the past few years! We joke that we should have a punch card for how often we visit! Whether it’s a simple strep test for my youngest son, having my oldest son’s split ear glued up, a temporary splint for my knee after a skiing accident, or an urgent X-ray after my husband’s fall, we always turn to Riverview Health Emergency Room & Urgent Care because we know we’ll be seen quickly by an emergency-trained physician and be back home in no time.
The thought of having to visit a regular Emergency Room usually ends up with us not going at all. You know the wait could be hours and the bill will be astronomical. - COVID-19 antibody testing
- Two trauma beds, emergency room beds, and urgent care beds
- On-site laboratory
- On-site CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound and EKG
- Children’s play corner in the waiting room

I love that the waiting rooms are very clean, spacious, and welcoming with a children’s play area, a television, a refrigerator with complimentary water bottles and drinks, and a machine that will make anything from hot chocolate to coffee to French vanilla lattes. These little conveniences can make a stressful situation much more bearable!
There are wheelchairs right inside the entrance and a covered drop-off to protect from the elements when transferring from the car to the building. There are also adult and children’s face masks available, if needed, as well.
Emergency Room & Urgent Care Billing
Unlike other traditional Emergency Room visits, the care you receive at Riverview Health Emergency Room & Urgent Care determines how your services are billed. You will not be billed for an ER visit if your services fall under Urgent Care and are within Urgent Care hours. If you’re not sure where you should go in an emergency, having an Urgent Care and ER under the same roof means you don’t have to make that decision on your own.
If it is determined that you need emergency services, you are already there and don’t have to be transported to another location. Rest assured knowing that Riverview Health Emergency Room & Urgent Care will not bill you at ER rates if you only received Urgent Care services.
