Two Chicks District Co. | Good Bones Star to Close Indianapolis Boutique

Mina Starsiak-Hawke, owner of renovation company Two Chicks and a Hammer and star of the HGTV show Good Bones, announced the closing of her Indianapolis boutique on Friday, September 29. Two Chicks District Co. is located in the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood, along with many of the homes renovated by Starsiak-Hawke’s company.

“As a small business, the store has faced numerous challenges, especially during the unprecedented times we opened in, during COVID,” Mina posted on the Two Chicks and a Hammer Facebook page on Friday. “The incredibly difficult decision to close the store is one that I have not made lightly. Being an anchor on our corner alongside The Vault, Lincoln Lane, Big Lew’s Tattoos, BLNKPG and ARC Fitness these last three years has been an honor.”

Fans of the show have a few more chances to shop at Two Chicks District Co. before it closes for good. The boutique will remain open through the end of 2023. Closing sales and discounts will hit the store on October 26, along with a final collection of holiday items. The shop will also host “Meet and Mingle with Mina,” a ticketed “exclusive private shopping experience” on October 7.

Good Bones is currently airing its 8th and final season. The show has brought national visibility and publicity to the city as Mina and her mom and co-star, Karen Laine, have offered their design talents and passion for investing in their community throughout Indianapolis.

Modern, industrial, urban, and traditional all mixed into one sweet little shop. You’ll want to schedule a visit to Two Chicks District Co. by Mina, the first boutique opened by the dream team of Two Chicks and a Hammer. You may recognize the name from the HGTV’s hit series, Good Bones.

Welcome to the Two Chicks District Company, the brain child of Good Bones star Mina Starsiak-Hawk. She’s putting the family in family business by hiring her younger sister, Kelsey Gray, to help run the retail business. At Two Chicks District Co, you will find fabulous home furnishings, décor, gifts and handmade, one-of-a kind finds.

Home Decor Items at Two Chicks District Co

There are so many things to touch, smell and see. You’ll find plush blankets and snazzy pillows, vases and lamps made from a variety of mediums with great texture and curves, velvet couches and comfy arm chairs. Delicious smelling self-care items pepper the store and there’s even a Two Chicks signature scented candle.

The District Co. caters to adults with an interest in creating beautiful spaces in their home. While you won’t find the traditional children’s bedroom decor, this would be a fun space to take a teen for bedroom makeover inspiration or to design the most sophisticated of nurseries.

Select a rug, lighting and art work to enhance anything from a nursery to a dorm room. Check out the displays of gift like treasures; adorable wallets, little bags and fun socks or kitschy coffee mugs, dainty jewelry and beautiful wall hangings. You can also buy a Two Chicks bottle or logo t-shirt for the biggest “Two Chicks” fan in your life.

Two Chicks District Co Bistro

When you first enter the boutique on the corner of S. East St and Lincoln you are greeted by a small bistro. The tables and chairs look like something you would find in one of the refurbished houses the dynamic duo has created. The “bar” area is roped off to make the seating areas family friendly. In addition to beer and wine, soda and bottled water are on the menu, alongside snack options like sandwiches or fancy cheese and crackers. This is a great place for locals of the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood to grab a beverage after work and socialize with their neighbors.

Heading back into the retail part of the boutique you will notice fabulous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling above, and rows and rows of barware and cooking implements. Tucked away on the left is Karen’s Corner, a wonderful little nook filled with handmade items from momma chick, Karen Laine. Pick up a repurposed cutting board, fun plant hanger or ceramic animals just like the items fans have grown to love in one of the rehabbed houses. Continue browsing the retail space for all sorts of beautiful home goods. Sit on the velvet couch or leather arm chair. There is even a plush loveseat in a back corner, perfect for your Instagram posts with a neon “Find your vibe” glowing above.
