The Indianapolis skyline is beautiful. It has changed a bit in the past few years, and it’s still wonderful! My children recognize “downtown” from wherever we can see it. Here are some of our favorite places to see our city and get a view of Indy. We’ll try not to show off too much of the view so you can discover it for yourself!
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the Circle is a pretty sight and a recognizable feature of down town Indy, but the view FROM the Monument is gorgeous too! A 360-degree view of Indianapolis from the center of the city!
Sky Farm at Eskenazi Health (Hospital) has great views during the day and after dark!
Crown Hill Cemetery shows the city from afar and the view changes with the seasons and the weather.
The City County Building has a free observation deck for the public to see the city. Great views of Monument Circle and during the holidays you can check it out at night so your family can see the Circle of Lights from above!
It’s not from up high or far away, but this view of Indy is one of our favorite. I’d also bet that it’s one of the best views of Indianapolis. White River State Park is a great place to walk and if you turn around, you’ll see the world ahead of you. I love the view from the Canal behind the Indiana State Museum, I love the view on the walk towards the Zoo from the JW Marriott.
