My son and I recently joined one of the play group’s we belong to for a picnic play date at Riverwood Park and Spray Pad. It was our first time at the park, and I can honestly say it will definitely not be our last visit! We spent the entire afternoon enjoying the company of friends, playing on the playground and having tons of water fun in the park’s splash pad!
When visiting Riverwood Park and Spray Pad, I would like to offer some tips to prepare your family for an enjoyable time. Seating with shade is limited near the playground and splash pad. There is ample shade in the grass near by up against the woods, so plan to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit in the shade. Bathrooms and drinking fountains are not too close to the playground and spray pad, so encourage your children to use the facilities when you first arrive at the park. Even if you’re not planning to bring a picnic, it’s always a safe bet to bring a small insulated cooler with water and snacks, and definitely bring the sunscreen, hats and sunglasses to protect your body from the elements. I always bring a first aid kit to parks and splash pads as well to be prepared for possible scrapes and cuts from falls and such.
