Art 2 The Extreme Makes Special Days Better | Local Business Feature

What do Indy with Kids, the Food Network Magazine, Midwest Living, Good Housekeeping, US Weekly, People Magazine and Oprah Winfrey all have in common? We’re all talking about an Indiana small business that a local mom started in her home.

Art 2 The Extreme

When I stumbled up on Art 2 The Extreme on Instagram, I fell in love. Nicole’s Instagram feed is a gorgeous curation of colors and rainbows, mainly you’ll see rainbow crayon creations. That’s because 13 years ago, Nicole became somewhat of a crayon queen when she began designing customized and personalized crayons. She’s the founder of the Original Rainbow Crayon®.

Easter Basket Stuffers

Art 2 the Extreme personalized name sets would be a wonderful addition to any child’s Easter basket, but we’re pretty smitten with the adorable details of the large bunny crayons. As a mom of four kiddos, I’m thankful for the colorful mini bunny crayon four pack too!

For Easter arrive, order by Friday, March 26 or arrange for local pickup in Noblesville.

Birthday Favors and Gifts for Kids

I was thrilled to learn that Nicole and the Art 2 the Extreme headquarters were basically located in my own backyard, right here in the Indianapolis area. I started seeing Art 2 the Extreme creations at local children’s stores and as gifts at birthday parties. In fact, the Rainbow Crayons are a “go to” favor for celebrities wanting a customized favor for their children’s parties. But you don’t have to be a celebrity to add this special touch to one of your parties, her designs are available on Etsy. In addition to creating the most delightful collection of letter crayons, Nicole can design a crayon that matches your party theme. I’ve been won over by her donut crayons and Valentine’s gift sets more than once.

Custom Personalized Crayons

Nicole started creating her colorful crayons as a hobby while she was an elementary school art teacher in Lebanon. She’s familiar with the arts and crafts scene,  she taught art from a rolling cart, visiting classrooms for art lessons for most of her career. With her love of color and design coupled with the need she saw for adaptive art supplies for her students with special needs, Nicole was ready to get cooking!

When asked what her favorite part is of the whole process, Nicole says it’s, “Pouring the crayons and discovering the surprise mix and swirls of the colors. Since each crayon is different, it’s a new combination and experience each time.”
