My mother always loved Halloween and thanks to her, I always had the best Halloween costumes. My favorite was the year she fashioned a white garbage bag and yellow legal paper and transformed me into a giant bag of popcorn—I think I even won a costume contest that year. I’m not sure how she did it.
Because I can’t. No one wants to see my Pinterest Fail. So I’m left with buying a costume. But the cost is downright scary for an outfit worn once—or a few times if you hit up a few Trunk-or-Treats! Sometimes, I’ve swapped old costumes with friends and family, but there are also some great events around the city where you can donate or swap your old costumes too!
