Batter up, Indiana! The 2026 Indiana State Fair is celebrating summer with a baseball-inspired theme, “Always a Hit!” presented by the Indianapolis Indians. From home runs to hometown fun, families can expect plenty of baseball-themed experiences along with all of the State Fair favorites you already love.
The 2026 Indiana State Fair takes place August 7-23, 2026, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The Fair is closed on Mondays, but is open Tuesdays through Sundays.
If you’re trying to visit the Indiana State Fair without spending a fortune, there are still plenty of ways to save. Discount admission days, $2 Midway rides, free admission opportunities, a $5 food menu, free entertainment, and even free transportation around the Fairgrounds can make your State Fair day much more affordable.
2026 Indiana State Fair Admission
Regular gate admission to the 2026 Indiana State Fair is $18 per person. Online tickets are currently $19, which includes a $1 order processing fee. Children age 5 and younger are admitted free.
Advance discount admission and parking prices were available before the Fair began, but those offers ended August 6.
If you haven’t purchased tickets yet, don’t worry. Some of the best Indiana State Fair discounts happen during the Fair itself.
Indiana State Fair Parking
Parking at the Indiana State Fair is $10 per vehicle. Parking remains $10 even on the Fair’s popular $2 Tuesdays.
Families can also save $1 on Fair admission by riding bicycles to the State Fair and parking at the free secured bicycle racks located off the Monon Trail north of 38th Street. IndyGo also offers bus transportation to the area.
Indiana State Fair Midway Wristbands
If your kids want to ride ALL THE RIDES, a Midway wristband can be one of the easiest ways to keep your ride budget under control.
Regular Midway wristbands are $40 when purchased on-site. Advance $30 wristbands were available before August 6. Wristbands do not include Fair admission or parking.
Midway wristbands are only valid on select days during the 2026 Indiana State Fair:

* Sunday, August 23
Wristbands are not sold after 8:30 pm. They are also not valid for attractions such as the new Indiana State Fair Train or the Skyride gondolas.
If you’re flexible about which day you visit, there’s an even cheaper way to ride.
2026 Indiana State Fair Discount Days
The Indiana State Fair has several special discount days that can dramatically cut the cost of taking your family.
$2 Tuesdays at the Indiana State Fair
Tuesday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 18. This is one of the best Indiana State Fair deals of the year.
Admission is just $2 per person, Midway rides are $2 each, and participating food stands offer $2 food options. Parking remains the regular $10 price.
If you’re taking several kids and everyone wants to ride, this is definitely a date to consider.
Military & First Responders’ Day
Wednesday, August 12, first responders, current and former members of the military, and their families receive FREE admission with valid ID presented at the gate.
Doctors and nurses are included as first responders for this promotion.
Indianapolis Indians’ Family Day
Thursday, August 13. In keeping with this year’s baseball theme, the Indianapolis Indians are sponsoring a special Family Day.
Fairgoers can receive 50% off gate admission with the required printed or digital Indianapolis Indians voucher.
IndyStar Free Ticket on Farmers’ Day
Wednesday, August 19, look for a FREE Indiana State Fair admission ticket in the Monday, August 17 edition of the IndyStar. That ticket can be redeemed at the Fair gates on Wednesday, August 19, which is Farmers’ Day presented by Corteva Agriscience.
AAA Day
Thursday, August 20, AAA members receive FREE Indiana State Fair admission when they present a valid AAA membership card at the gate. One valid membership card is required per person receiving free admission.

Saving money doesn’t end when you walk through the gate.
Look for the $5 Value Menu
Fair food can add up quickly, especially when you’re feeding an entire family. The State Fair’s $5 Value Menu features food and drink options priced at $5 or less at participating vendors throughout the Fairgrounds.
It’s worth checking the menu before you start ordering so you know where to find some of the more budget-friendly Fair food. Here’s a list of the $5 menu at the Indiana State Fair; you can grab a map when you arrive.
Ride the Free Tractor Shuttles
Save your feet for the Midway! Tractor shuttle rides are free and operate around the Fairgrounds, making them especially helpful when you’re visiting with younger kids, or you’ve already logged thousands of steps exploring the Fair.
Enjoy Free Entertainment
One of my favorite things about the Indiana State Fair is how much there is to do after you’ve paid admission.
The Fair has compiled a list of 100 free things to do at the 2026 Indiana State Fair, including exhibits, family activities, demonstrations and entertainment.
The Hoosier Lottery Free Stage is another huge value. Concerts on the Free Stage are included with paid Fair admission, and general lawn seating is first come, first served. You can even bring your own lawn chair.
Between the animals, exhibits, entertainment, family activities, special attractions and free shows, you don’t have to spend money every minute you’re at the Fair.
What’s New at the 2026 Indiana State Fair?
This year’s “Always a Hit!” theme celebrates baseball in true Hoosier style through the Fair’s partnership with the Indianapolis Indians. One of the featured attractions is the Schumacher Stadium Wiffle Ball Field, a mini Victory Field-inspired wiffle ball diamond where Fairgoers can step up to the plate and play.
Families will also find plenty of new entertainment mixed in with longtime Fair traditions. Many of the new attractions and performances are included with paid Fair admission.
