Arts and crafts are a great way for kids to express themselves and develop hand eye coordination. My kids enjoy art and I have found a new place in Greenfield, Indiana that offers art classes for kids of all ages, the Indie Art Studio located right downtown at the corner of highway 9 and highway 40. What I really appreciated is that there is age appropriate art education that accompanies each class. I have taken my toddler to three classes there each time he came out learning a new word and it’s meaning. This particular class was on pointillism and nothing is cuter than hearing a three year proudly tell you he learned about pointillism.
Classes can be purchased online. They are broken down by toddler and parent, elementary aged and teen. They are held at various times throughout the day. There is also couples classes and open studio times and it all changes on a monthly basis so check their website often for updates. They are available for birthday parties as well.
The classes start with the education component and then move on to the art making. All supplies are provided with the cost of the class, and your child will come home with a completed work of art, or two. And the best part is all the mess and clean up stays at the studio and not on your kitchen table. (I love that part!)
