About Academy of Dance Arts

Academy of Dance Arts believes dance is a performance art and knows every dancer has something unique to offer. Our teachers have either danced professionally, are currently dancing professionally, have a college degree in dance or have been through our teacher mentoring program. The higher the level of class the more experienced the teacher. ADA wants to create a supportive and encouraging environment without competition and offers multiple performing opportunities throughout each year.

Academy of Dance Arts was founded in 1999 by Sue Van Voorhis and is now under the ownership of Rebecca Jones. Rebecca has a BFA from Butler University and danced professionally with Dane Kaleidoscope. She was trained by members of the Martha Graham Company who worked directly with Martha Graham herself and is passing down her joy of dance to the next generation. ADA’s mission statement is “Instilling the joy of dance with professional teachers in a non-competitive environment”.
