LaShonna Bates Aquatic Center is located just south and west of downtown, attached to IPS #46 elementary school. It is very family friendly with boys and girls locker rooms. The locker rooms include open showers, lockers (bring your own lock) and restrooms (including a changing table!). The lifeguards are vigilant and constantly walking around the pool watching to be sure everyone is safe. You may want to bring some water shoes for yourself and your little ones as the floor in the zero entry area of the pool was pretty slippery!
Although it is a relatively small space, the pool was not crowded when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. According to the manager, this is the norm (except when they are hosting a birthday party or other event) so it is easy to keep an eye on the kiddos.
FYI: There is a hot tub for adults only (not that I would ever be able to enjoy it while chasing a two year old around!)

$3 for adults, $2 for children and seniors, kids 2 and under are free
Note: LaShonna Bates Indoor Aquatic Center will close May 9 for the summer. It will reopen in the fall.
