Morse Park and Beach

A visit to Morse Park and Beach is not something to be taken lightly! One can easily spend an entire day there, between a newly redesigned playground, the beach, and walking trails. The 23-acre park has so much to offer, whether you want to let your kids get out some energy or just relax in the sun and sand. Who knew that we can go to a beach so close to home?

Endless Amenities

The park has fishing, as well as a boat dock, for those looking to get in touch with nature. If you are looking to keep cool during the summer months, head right to the beach! During spring and summer, Hamilton County Parks and Rec spring and softball leagues are in action. You’ll also find an 18-hole disc golf course, volleyball, playgrounds, trails, and picnic shelters. The park is big enough that you can take your family for a blanket picnic and not feel like you’re on top of all the other park-goers. The list of amenities at this park is extensive and includes: picnic shelters, picnic tables, playground, trails, restrooms, beach, bathhouse, boat dock, fishing, volleyball court, softball fields, and disc golf.

The Beach is Open All Summer

The beach is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, from 12pm-6pm. There is a small fee to use the beach, but children 2 and under are free! The Parks and Rec website states that keeping in touch via their Facebook page is recommended, in the event of changes due to weather.

Kids Will Love the Playground At Morse Park

Directly next to the beach entrance is a beautiful, newly renovated playground. The main structure consists of multiple levels to climb and explore, as well as monkey bars, several different slides, and even a whale shaped rock wall! Several entrances are positioned around the main play structure, providing a variety of different climbing challenges. Nearby are swings and spinning features. Right next to the main playground structure is a small toddler area that consists of a small-scale slide, as well as other fun elements to explore.

The rope swing at this playground is truly unique. There are circular plastic seat swings that are attached to a strong rope, and can be pushed like a merry go round. It is such a fun addition to Morse Park. The swing seats three children at a time, allowing kids to enjoy playing together.

As a fun bonus, you’ll find a Gaga Ball Pit near the playground. Plan to bring a ball and play a round of this classic game when you come to visit. There are restrooms located in the building beside the play area, at the beach entrance. There is also a large picnic shelter here with ample seating to take a rest or enjoy a packed lunch outside before or after playtime.

Now if you need me, I’ll be at the beach!
