One of my favorite group activities was when 10 or so of us went to see the Naptown Roller Girls compete in a “bout” at the fairgrounds. There were tons of kids and families there and it was like watching the Indy 500 but the wheels were attached to feet instead of cars! The sport was explained well at the beginning and it was easy to follow.
Roller Derby was a thrilling, intense and fun sport to watch. We had a great time and we quickly choose our favorite roller girl (their names are hilarious! Uh, “Dora the Destroyer”?! My kids laugh their faces off) to cheer on as she skated around the track!
Tickets are available in advance for $12.
At the door tickets are $17 for age 13+
$8 for kids 7-12 (at the door only)
Kids 6 and under are free
Seating is general so you’ll want to get there a bit early to find the perfect seat. What is the perfect seat? I guess it all depends on what your comfort level is with risk. We sit far away from the track! The venue will be very loud because of cheering fans so ear protection is recommended for children, and maybe adults too!
