If your kids have ever begged for more Hot Wheels tracks, more loops, more cars, more launchers, more space to build, and basically every giant race track setup they have ever seen in a commercial, then let me just save you some time and money right now. We took our kids to the brand new indoor play place in Martinsville called SpeedZone, and it was one of those places where I immediately thought, “Oh, wow, this is everything they’ve always wanted… and I did not have to buy any of it.”

SpeedZone is a brand new indoor play space in Morgan County at 160 N. Marion Street in Martinsville, Indiana, inside a former BMV building, and it is built around die-cast track building and racing. So yes, we are absolutely talking about a Hot Wheels dream situation. If you have kids who love cars, ramps, speed, loops, crashing, rebuilding, and testing out their own wild ideas, this place is such a fun find.

You know how sometimes you take your kids somewhere new, and there is a little warm-up period where they kind of look around, cling to you for a second, and need time to settle in?

That was not the case here.

My kids were into it immediately. They started playing right away and stayed busy the whole time we were there. And what really stood out to me was that it was not just fun for the little kids. Even my older kids had a great time. It can be hard to find places where the age range works for everyone, but SpeedZone has enough going on that older kids can really get into it, too.

This is not just a room with a couple of tracks tossed out for kids to play with. This is a full-on themed indoor play space with track pieces, loops, ramps, launchers, towers, wall tracks, tabletop builds, and more Hot Wheels-style setups than most of us would ever want to store in our homes.

My kids got to enjoy all of the fun of those huge Hot Wheels setups they have always wanted, without me having to buy giant bins of track pieces, find storage for them, step on them in the middle of the night, or listen to them ask for “just one more set” every time we walk through the toy aisle.

What SpeedZone Looks Like

The space itself is really cool. Since it is inside a former BMV building, it has a lot of room to spread out, and they have transformed it into this colorful, creative play area that feels fun as soon as you walk in.

There are bright LED lights all over the ceiling that give the room a glowing, arcade-like feel, which makes it even more exciting for the kids. The walls have racing decor and SpeedZone branding, and the whole place feels themed without being overdone. There are multiple play stations set up throughout the room, with track builds on tables, along the walls, and in open play areas where kids can move around and experiment. During the day, the lights might be on, or kids can request the Glow Track experience.

I loved that this was not a passive kind of place where the kids are just pressing buttons or staring at screens. They were building, testing, racing, adjusting, and trying again. It kept them engaged the entire time because there was always another idea to try. One kid would send a car down a loop, another would add a ramp, another would rebuild a section, and suddenly they were all working together on some ridiculous contraption that they were so proud of.

SpeedZone Pricing

SpeedZone offers a few different pricing options depending on how long you want to play and how often you think you will visit.

The Quick Lap option is $15 for the first racer and $10 for each extra racer for 90 minutes. That feels like a nice option for families who want to check it out without committing to a full day.

The Day Pass is $25 for the first racer and $15 for each extra racer, and it is marked as one of the best values. If your kids are the kind who could happily stay and play for hours, this may be the better choice.

There is also a Weekly Play Pass for $35 for the first racer and $20 for each extra racer, along with a Monthly Membership for $55 for the first racer and $45 for each extra racer.

For families planning to make SpeedZone part of their regular routine, there is an Annual VIP Pass for $495, which includes unlimited racing all year for up to four children. That option is clearly geared toward families with multiple kids who know this will become a frequent outing.

One thing parents should note is that adults must be accompanied by a paid child to enter. So this is truly a family and kid-focused play space. It is built for children first, with grown-ups along for the fun.

Party Rooms Make It a Fun Birthday Spot

If you are always looking for birthday party places that feel fresh and different, SpeedZone sounds like it could be a really fun option. The space has party rooms, which makes sense for a place like this. It is themed, interactive, and gives kids something to do the entire time instead of just showing up for cake and presents.

A Hot Wheels-themed party here would be pretty easy to imagine. Kids could build tracks, race cars, challenge each other, and then head into a party room for food and celebration. For children who are really into cars and racing, this feels like the kind of birthday destination they would talk about for weeks.

SpeedZone Underground for Older Kids and Adults

One especially interesting twist is that a few Fridays each month, SpeedZone plans to host Underground nights. These events sound like they are designed for adults and older kids, with the lights turned down, the music turned up, and a more grown-up energy.

The concept is fun because it gives SpeedZone a second life beyond little-kid daytime play. While regular admission is centered on families with children, these special evenings could be a great fit for tweens, teens, and adults who still love racing and building but want a different atmosphere. According to the owner, the music will be uncensored, and the room will be darker, so families with younger children will probably want to save those nights for the older crowd.
