“Hey Mom and Dad, watch this!”
It’s a familiar phrase for so many parents, who know that it is their duty upon hearing this call to patiently look up and watch their budding stunt performer execute a series of improvised jumps or feats of daring.
Is this a common occurrence in your home? Are you ready to help your little Ninja or future Olympic gymnast develop the skills and confidence they need to grow as an athlete? We can’t recommend the programs at Wright’s Gymnastics Fishers and Noblesville locations enough!
Wright’s Gymnastics Locations in Noblesville & Fishers
Wright’s Gymnastics has a variety of classes and programs to let your children dip their toes into the world of gymnastics. If they give it a try and decide to really dive in, the dedicated Wright’s coaches and instructors can help your child improve skills, grow in confidence, and maybe even get into the competitive side of this enduring and ever-popular sport.
Beginner Gymnasts: Where to Start
If your child has expressed an interest in gymnastics and you aren’t sure where to get started, the manager of Wright’s Fishers and Noblesville locations, Serena Gray, has some suggestions for you.
Serena believes just giving your child a chance to experience the gym may be the best place to start, especially for younger kids. All Wright’s locations offer FunTimes, which are scheduled blocks of open gym time throughout the week when kids can run, jump, climb, and flip on the available equipment to their heart’s content. FunTimes are 50 minutes long each, and while Wright’s students can attend one free session per week, children do not have to be enrolled in a class to participate.
Currently, there is a per-session fee of $16 for non-students who want to join FunTimes. However, Wright’s will soon offer a FunTimes family membership, providing a high-value option to families with active kids who might not be ready for or interested in the structured gymnastics program. Pricing information has yet to be announced, but FunTimes membership fees will be per-family rather than per-child and will include access to all scheduled sessions throughout the week. Memberships will be valid at any Wright’s location, so families can explore the different facilities and play wherever is most convenient.
For kids desperate to get started learning cartwheels and flips, Serena recommends joining one of Wright’s structured classes. New students just testing the waters can sign up for a no-commitment trial class for just $5. Opting out is easy if they choose not to return. Ms. Gray emphasizes that, unlike some other gyms in our area, Wright’s has no membership fees and no time commitment (one year is a common standard). This takes the pressure off of kids and parents and allows them the freedom to change plans and priorities without leaving money on the table.
Programs at Wright’s Gymnastics
Sweet Peas
Starting at just 6 months old, tiny tots can begin Sweet Peas classes with a participating parent. Once students are 3 years old, they can begin attending programs independently. Wright’s groups classes by age, not by ability or experience, so children work to build skills alongside age peers.
FUNdamentals
The most popular time to give gymnastics a try tends to be when kids are between Kindergarten and second grade. The programs at Wright’s for this age group tend to fill fastest, so register early! Wright’s FUNdamentals is for kids in Kindergarten through 10th grade and is perfect for children looking to build confidence and skills in a non-competitive environment focused on individual improvement. As students progress, they are invited to participate in “Move Up Meets,” where they have the opportunity to earn colored wristbands indicating new levels of achievement. They continue to practice with students of the same age, while coaches adapt exercises to meet their abilities.
At the Noblesville and Fishers Wright’s locations, you’ll find classes for a wide variety of ages offered simultaneously or back-to-back. This schedule allows families with multiple children to attend classes at the same time, without the need to return to the gym multiple times per week.
Competitive Teams
Is your child ready for some competition and a higher degree of rigor? Wright’s also has a Junior Olympic Competitive Team that regularly travels to meets and follows a high set of standards set by USA Gymnastics. Girls who make the team progress through 10 levels of difficulty and can expect to practice anywhere from 4-20 hours per week, year-round. Meets are typically held around the Midwest, but older gymnasts may travel further. Recently, the Wright’s team traveled as far as Orlando, Florida.
For those who want to compete with less time commitment, Wright’s offers their Xcel team. This team is for gymnasts who may show strong abilities in one or two specific disciplines and are looking for additional challenge in these areas. The program allows gymnasts to focus on personal growth and competition while also emphasizing balance between sports and other valuable areas of life. The Xcel team travels around the state for meets, but typically not as far as the Junior Olympic team.
Ninja Zone
Kids who want to try a non-traditional approach to gymnastics can opt to join Wright’s NinjaZone programs. Beginning in preschool, children can join Lil Ninja, which uses games and activities to build athleticism and early gymnastics skills.
Older kids participate in the school-age Ninja Zone program. These classes use four “worlds” of skills, including Gymnastics, Parkour, Tricking, and Warrior, to help kids grow in ability and character. Students earn points as they master new skills, eventually being given the chance to complete a “Mission” and advance to a new Ninja level. Both Lil Ninjas and school-age Ninjas can compete in Ninja Games events throughout the year.
Birthday Parties
Whether or not you have a child enrolled at Wright’s, birthday parties at the gym are guaranteed to be a blast! If you are looking for a party location on Indy’s north side, both the Fishers and Noblesville Wright’s locations are great options.
There are some slight variations between the locations to consider for your event. The Wright’s Gymnastics in Fishers offers two designated party rooms that may be rented simultaneously. While this means your group may share the gym with another party, you’ll have your own private space to retreat to when it’s time for cake and gifts. Your rental books the space for 1.5 hours.
Celebrating a young child under 5? Fishers has a Preschool space that’s perfect for little ones.
At the Noblesville Wright’s Gymnastics, your party rental gets you 2 full hours in the gym. Your group will have the place to itself, as this location only offers one party area.
Rates for birthday parties start at $245 at Noblesville and $345 at Fishers. For more information on booking, pricing, and party add-ons, visit Wright’s website.
