The Oasis Diner is retro at it’s finest. Located in Plainfield, Indiana, the building originally was in New Jersey. The food is reminiscent of the 50’s diner style food, the paraphernalia and moments that adorn the walls are throwbacks to when soda floats cost only 50cents and everyone had a milkshake on a date — one per couple of course.
Our family loves the food at Oasis Diner and my kids especially love the all day breakfast. If you want to order an appetizer to share, you have to try the Disco Fries, ale battered fries topped with creamy brown gravy, melted mozzarella cheese and chives. Ohmigosh? Yeah, that’s what I thought you’d say.
In addition to the popular breakfast items, the burgers and sandwiches are a hit. Those who crave that famous Indiana tenderloin sandwich won’t be disappointed by the size or the flavors of the Original Tenderloin at the Oasis Diner. It’s best chased by one of their handcrafted sodas — my favorite is the butterscotch root beer.
Oh, the pie. You might actually just want to stop in to Oasis Diner for dessert sometime. The milkshakes, ice cream and soda floats are amazing, but the homemade bakery items? You’ll want to move in. Try the beignets and the pie. Trust me. Or convince everyone in your family to order something different, and then share…if you can get the fork out of their hands.
Look for summer specials, like the Back in Time Tuesdays where you can get a handcrafted soda float for only 50cents. Also, kids eat free every Monday night, 5pm -9pm.
