The holiday light show at We Care Park in Kokomo, Indiana is no longer taking place. This article will remain online as an archive for information about this beloved tradition, however this event is no longer held.
I’ve been hearing about the Christmas light display at We Care Park in Kokomo for years. We finally made the drive, (just a little more than an hour outside of downtown Indy) and saw it with our own eyes! We Care Park was featured on a 2018 episode of ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” So, you know it’s amazing! 2020 will be the final year for the We Care Christmas Light Display. The man who started the show has been doing it for decades and he’s ready to retire.
Drive Thru Christmas Lights Show
The We Care Park Christmas light display is a walkthrough and drive through experience. You can do either one or both! We opted to park a few streets away and walk through. You start by walking through someone’s yard in a cluster of homes that back up to the park.
Plan for muddy and some slippery areas if it has recently rained or snowed.
Admission is free but donations are accepted for the We Care charity, an organization that provides for the needy.
Sometimes children who visit are given a stuffed animal or other toy. We were told that there’s free hot cocoa but since there was a pretty big crowd, we opted to not check it out.
After we walked through, we drove our car through. I recommend walking for sure but if you can do both, do both!
We Care Light Display Hours
The We Care Park drive-thru light display is open Thanksgiving thru Christmas beginning at dusk until 9:30 pm. However, if the crowds are large, they’ve been known to keep the park open later.

It has always been a family tradition.
To see their faces light up when they see all the lights and decorations it truly puts everyone in the Christmas mood.
My son who is older now has also played Santa Claus.

I am amazed at the support of all the volunteers and Community puts into this.
It is well worth the trip, no matter where you live.
