11 Near Indy Best Drive Thru Christmas Lights & Holiday Experiences

Even before we ever heard the words COVID or Coronavirus or social distancing on a daily basis, there were drive thru Christmas light shows and drive thru light displays. Many families love driving around and looking all of the best Christmas light houses in Indianapolis on our list. We’ve searched high and low and we’re still searching for the best drive-thru light displays in all of Indiana. Let me know in the comments if you know of others. Christmas Nights of Lights in Indianapolis

Gate 12 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1101-1699, E 42nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46205
Now through Januar 3, 2021
Dusk – 10pm
Admission: $7 per person or $30 per carload
Over one million lights are fully synchronized to popular holiday classics and even some new music. Drive thru miles of lights that wrap throughout the infield at the Indiana State Fair. This spectacular display will entertain everyone. Admission is $7 per person or $30 per carload.

Holiday Lights at Hummel Park in Plainfield

1500 South Center Street, Plainfield
Now through Christmas, open daily after dark
Admission: FREE
Drive thru and enjoy the light display.

Winterland Light Show at Ellis Park in Danville

600 E Main St, Danville
November 20 – December 27, 2021 (Closed on Christmas)
Sunday – Thursday, 6-9pm and Fridays & Saturdays, 6 -10pm
Admission: $5 per car Monday – Thursday, $10 on weekends
Drive thru and see beautiful light displays. Santa will be there on weekends behind a glass window. Wave and take photos in front of the window if you wish.

Festival of Lights at Jimmy Nash Park

360 N Home Ave, Martinsville
November 28 – January 1
Beginning at dusk
Admission: Free
Drive thru and admire the lights in the park. While you’re in town, stop by the Martinsville Candy Kitchen and buy freshly made candy canes. You might even get to see them pour the candy canes and make them!

We Care Park in Kokomo

2317 N Lafountain Street, Kokomo
Admission: FREE
This holiday light show is worth the drive to Kokomo (about one hour from Indy.) 2020 will be the final year for this volunteer run light show. Admission is free but donations are accepted for the We Care program that helps care for those in need. Drive thru the spectacular lights or get out and walk. The We Care Light Show appeared on ABC’s series, The Great Christmas Light Fight.

City of Lights in Kokomo

900 W Deffenbaugh Street, Kokomo
Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day at dusk, FREE
City of Lights drive-through holiday light display through Kokomo’s Highland Park includes over 50 large holiday displays.

Christmas at the Park

Johnson County Park, 2949 North Street, Nineveh, IN
Open November 27, dates & times vary, $25 per car
Christmas At The Park is a drive-thru, interactive Christmas light show. Live characters, Free hot chocolate, pictures with Santa and the Grinch.

Columbus Country Christmas

10335 S. 400 W, Columbus, IN
November 21 – December 23, 2020
6 – 10 pm , $25 or $20 when paying with cash
This drive-thru light show is a new one for us. Concessions are available for sale.

Santa Claus Land of Lights in Santa Claus, Indiana

78 North Holiday Boulevard, Santa Claus
Open Thanksgiving night + Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays November 27 through December 6. Open nightly December 11 – December 27. Closed December 24 & 25.
Hours: 5pm – 9pm CST
Admission: $15 per carload. Save $4 with a coupon from McDonald’s.
Your whole family will love the Santa Claus Land of Lights at Lake Rudolph jam packed, 1.5 mile, drive thru light display that tells a fun story of Rudolph and the hard work and preparation it takes to be ready to help Santa when he’s in need. Wilstem Winter Lights Drive-Thru

4229 US-150 W, Paoli
November 7 through January 2, 2021
Dark to 9 pm, $30 per carload
The Wilstem drive thru Winter Lights show is a one-and-a-half-mile long display featuring 2.5 million lights, alive nativity and a chance to see Santa Claus! ​ Guests will enter a 200-foot drive thru tunnel, which can be seen from the highway. You will be welcomed by Santa, Elves, and Mrs. Claus adorned in lights.

Mega Caverns Lights Under Louisville

1841 Taylor Ave, Louisville, KY
Open November 13, 2020 – January 3, 2021
11 am – 10 pm Admission $30 per carload
4 million lights, 2 light tunnels, 850 lit characters and projection shows.

    1. We share information for families on all sides of town so they can find locations nearest them. I hope you were able to see them pour candy canes at the Candy Cane Kitchen, that is certainly worth the one hour trip.
