These locations have limited availability and many become very popular during the fall months! If you’re set on a specific place or date, be sure to book your spot well in advance. Once you’ve snagged the perfect campfire destination, you’re free to start planning your fireside snacks. Nothing says fall like a toasty s’more or some hot apple cider!
Where to Rent a Fire Pit In Indianapolis
We started our search right in the heart of Indianapolis. Believe it or not, even in this major urban area, there are several places to book a bonfire spot!
Driving Wind Farm
6410 Michigan Road, Indianapolis
Available: October 5 & 12
Driving Wind Farm offers fire pit rentals during its Pumpkin Palooza fall fest. Use your fire pit as a home base while you explore all the activities around the farm on October 5 or October 12. A 3-hour rental is $25 and includes a s’mores kit, picnic table, and firewood.
Southeastway Park
624 S Carroll Road, Indianapolis
Available: Fri-Sun evenings, September 21-November 1
Southeastway Park has become a well-known destination for its fall hayride packages. While campfires are not available a la carte, your group hayride reservation includes a bonfire at your selected site. Packages start at $120. Book early, as these spots fill up fast!
Where to Rent a Bonfire in Central Indiana
Simon Moon Park
3044 E 171st Street, Westfield
Available: Year-round
NOT AVAILABLE IN 2024 DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
Large groups of up to 75 people can reserve the Council Circle at Simon Moon Park in Westfield. An 8 foot stone fire pit sits at the center of a 20 foot circle of stone benches, perfect for group gatherings. Reserve through the Westfield Parks and Recreation website.
Urban Vines
303 E 161st Street, Westfield
Available: Fall and Winter
Get premium seating for your group at Urban Vines in Westfield. Order charcuterie and pizzas to savor fireside while sipping a glass of Urban Vines wine (for the grownups) or lemonade (for the kids). Fire pits accomodate 12 guests comfortably, but others are welcome to bring additional seating or stand. Firewood is provided with your rental and employees will get the blaze going for you upon arrival! Be aware that there is a food and beverage minimum for fire pit rentals along with your initial fee.
Urban Apples
18326 Spring Mill Road, Westfield
Available: Fall and Winter
Urban Apples is the newest concept from the minds behind Urban Vines. The cidery is another family-friendly property where you can gather to enjoy delicious eats, drinks, and $1 ice cream cones. Fire pit rentals here are similar to those at Urban Vines: There’s a $100 fee for a 2 hour time slot, as well as a food and beverage minimum for each reservation. The log seating around the fire provides spots for up to 20 people to enjoy.
Dull’s Tree Farm
1765 W Blubaugh Ave, Thorntown
Available: September 21-October 27
Gather together with friends on the farm! Throughout the Pumpkin Harvest season at Dull’s Tree Farm, guests can enhance their experience by renting a personal fire pit for the afternoon or evening. Fire pits are rented in 3 hour time blocks and your rental includes a picnic table and roasting sticks. Bring in your own snacks or purchase a s’mores kit when you make your reservation! Keep in mind that there is a limit of 30 guests to a bonfire and each visitor will need to pay admission to Pumpkin Harvest.
Piney Acres
1115 E 1000 N, Fortville
Available: Fall
Piney Acres Farm offers several package options so you can choose the rental and amenities that work best for your group. The cheapest package gives you a 2-hour time slot for up to 25 guests at a fire pit, and party guests can pay admission on their own. Planning for a larger group? Other choices come with admission to all the Piney Acres activities, and you can host up to 75 guests at a time. You’ll need to bring in your own firewood and you can either purchase food at the farm or bring your own.
Washington Township Park
115 S. County Road 575, Avon
Available: Year-round
Reserve the Eagle Shelter at Washington Township Park in Avon and you’ll also have access to scenic views and a fire pit. Be sure to get written permission from the Park Director if you plan to use the fire. While your group is at Washington Township Park, you can also hike 5 miles of trails, play on multiple playgrounds, start up a game of sand volleyball or basketball, or stroll the StoryWalk.
