7 Things to do this Weekend with Kids | October 7-9, 2022

Waterman's Family Farm

This weekend we have a couple of amazing events you won’t want to miss. While they are both indoors and away from the crisp fall temps, they are both perfect for the entire family.

The Pinners Conference is every Pinterest mom’s dream. And if you’re like me and not a Pinterest mom, the Pinterest Conference is the perfect opportunity to play one for the day.

This fun-filled event brings the latest online DIY, home décor, and cooking trends to life with 200+ local and national vendor booths and 100+ hands-on classes taught by some of the nation’s and Indiana’s best experts. Grab a friend and use this as an opportunity for a Girls’ Night Out! Or, take the kids and clock some mommy and me time. The possibilities are endless.

Feeling like a road trip? We highly suggest heading to Evansville and checking out the Dino & Dragon Stroll. Guests of all ages will get up close and personal with life-sized dinosaurs and dragons–some measuring more than 28’ tall and 60’ wide. Walking dinosaurs roam around the event looking for children to play with and don’t miss the baby dinosaurs! In addition to the dinosaurs and dragons, kids can enjoy story time and hands-on crafts and activities.

I know these aren’t exactly fall events, but later you can always hit up the area’s first trunk-or-treat or hitch a ride to PumpkinTown on the Sullivan Express

Still so many ways to #PlayIndy!

Riley Days Festival

Enjoy one of the largest craft festivals in the state of Indiana, with designated areas for food, commercial, flea market booths, and much more. Over 460 exhibitors will be set up on the streets around the 100-year-old courthouse. This event follows many years of traditions in celebrating the birth date of the famed “Hoosier Poet” James Whitcomb Riley. The Riley Festival begins every year on the first Thursday of October in beautiful downtown Greenfield Indiana. Residents combine their talents and resources to honor the memory of Greenfield’s native son. Come out for the day or the entire weekend and enjoy traditions and fun for the entire family.

Head to the Indiana State Fairgrounds to learn, design, and join in the fun. With hundreds of shops and a huge selection of classes, you will love this weekend of inspiration.
