I tend to obsess over birthday parties. Themes, decorations, entertainment, but everyone knows the first step is deciding on a location. So, I have scoured the city of Greenfield, Indiana for party venues and have put together a list of places to consider when hosting your child’s next birthday party. Leave the mess and the stress at home and just enjoy the celebration. Here are the best locations for a birthday party in Greenfield, west of Indianapolis. Get Arty at Your Party
Indie Art Studio
Located right in downtown Greenfield, this adorable art studio offers an art activity with instruction during your child’s birthday party. Every child will go home with a masterpiece. There are plenty of tables and chairs located right outside the art studio to be used for the food portion of your party. Parties are recommended for ages 3 on up and are only booked on Sundays.
Party at the Park
If your kids are outdoorsy, then I have a slew of places to choose from. Parks and playgrounds are great places to host an outdoor party, can be inexpensive and come with built-in entertainment for the kids, so no need to hire a clown or magician, just let them go play.
Riley Park
Reserve the park pavilion for the whole day and have plenty of time to decorate. There are 2 picnic pavilions to choose from. They are large and have plenty of picnic tables. They are located close to the playground equipment and offer a grill or two. On the grounds, there is also a skate park, tennis court, and disc golf course so you could easily incorporate any of those activities into your party if your kids have outgrown the playground.
- Riley Park Shelter House
- Reserve this large enclosed building which can hold 100 people. It has its own restrooms, tables and chairs, and a kitchen to use. The building is just up a hill from the playground and very close to parking and the splash pad.
- Riley Splash Pad
- The splash pad is free and while you can’t reserve tables there ahead of time, I have seen moms host smaller parties there. They get there early, stake out a table, put out some cupcakes, and let the kids play. All for Free!
- Riley City Pool
- Newly renovated, the city swimming pool has 2 big water slides, a rock climbing wall, and a great kiddie pool. You can reserve the entire pool on Friday and Saturday nights to host your party during the summer months.
Beckenholdt Park Shelter
An open-air shelter with 6 picnic tables adjacent to a 1.5-acre pond and close proximity to the restrooms. This shelter can be reserved for a small fee.
Try Something Cool and Unique
Lizabuth Ann’s Kitchen
If you are thinking tea party, garden party, fairy party or really anything girly consider reserving Lizabuth Ann’s Kitchen, located behind James Whitcomb Riley’s Boyhood home. For an additional fee you can reserve the garden and gazebo as well. This meeting space has been newly remodeled and will hold 50 people and does have a kitchen.
Hometown Comics & Games
Yes, if your kids are into superheroes here is the place for them. Surrounded by comic books and memorabilia the store has a large game room for parties with plenty of tables and chairs.
Evolution VR
If your child is into video gaming and virtual reality then this is the place for them. Party packages are available which include a private room with 2 to 8 stations, a personal attendant, and snacks and drinks. Simply select the amount of time you want to play, and add on any additional experiences you want to be incorporated into your party and you are all set. There is plenty of parking and it’s an easy-to-find location.
Have Fun at a Farm Birthday Party
Tuttle Orchard
Only available in the Fall, but wow do they offer a lot? Depending on the package you choose your guests will enjoy slushies and cupcakes, pick apples, receive hayride passes, and play in Tractor Town. Recommend for kids aged 3-12 and groups of 12 or more, Tuttle Orchards will handle the decorating and food all you have to do is show up. Additional adult chaperones are recommended.
Lark Ranch
Ok, so technically Lark Ranch does not offer birthday party packages, but two years ago, I was able to throw a fun party there. My son loves trains and Lark Ranch had just added their train ride. So we had all the party guests meet us there at a designated time, paid the group rate to get everyone in, and headed straight for the train ride. After that we let everyone play as a family around the ranch for 1 hour then we all left and headed back to our home for pizza and cupcakes. We provided addresses to both places and people really seemed to enjoy having something for everyone in the family to do.
Hit the Courts for Sports
If you kids are into sports be sure to check out these venues for some serious fun.
Jaycee Phelps Athletic Center
Every Saturday afternoon is available to book one hour in the gym and 45 minutes in the party room. They take care of the decorations and service ware, you bring in the cupcakes. Signed waivers are required for each attendee.
Memorial Gym
Reserve the old Memorial Gym for just $50 an hour. Let the kids play basketball or organize some athletic games on your own. This facility is perfect for the sports fan. There are bleachers for parents to sit on and watch their kids and the entryway can be set up with tables and chairs for food and drinks.
