Thank you to Bob Evans for sponsoring this post.
My friends call it “Lord of the Flies,” and they are totally accurate. You know, the times when your kids have to fend for themselves for one reason or another. Well, it’s been Lord of the Flies in our house for a good part of the last eight weeks. Bronchitis, ear infections, colds, flu and morning sickness…and that’s just me. Add my husband’s similar ailments and at least two of those symptoms for each child, it’s been bad here.
We’ve had a lot of breakfast for dinner, we’ve ordered our groceries and skipped the grocery store, we’ve done drive thru and last week I ordered pizza because I just couldn’t stand to empty the dishwasher one more time.
Tonight was Family Night at Bob Evans. Kids eat for free, there’s usually some sort of fun activity going on and we wanted to be there. Last month I told you about our family meal at Bob Evans and said that you couldn’t do this at home, you couldn’t had a delicious meal for the same price that it was available at Bob Evans. For $25 we fed all three kids + 2 adults AND didn’t have to do a single dish.
Luckily, I was wrong. Today, I couldn’t eat one more drive thru burger or chicken sandwich, I couldn’t down another slice of pizza and making pancakes just wasn’t an option…again. Today, we ordered Family Meals to Go from Bob Evans and brought a nice warm, tasty, prepared meal home to feed the whole family. We selected our sides (broccoli and french fries, because I know you’ll ask).
The girls couldn’t wait to see what was in the bag, and who can blame them. It’s been a guessing game around here what we’ll be eating.
Luckily there are a lot of options because with the way our sick season is going, we might have Family Meals to go VERY often: Slow-Roasted Turkey and Dressing, Slow-Roasted Pot Roast, Slow-Roasted Pork and Mushrooms, Grilled or Crispy Chicken Breasts, Slow-Roasted Chicken–N–Noodles Deep-Dish Dinner, Grilled or Crispy Chicken Strips, Wildfire Chicken Salad, Cobb Salad, Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad and Broasted Chicken.
