Hancock Health Debuts Gateway Facility and it’s Changing Local Healthcare for Families

Gateway touts new features, services, and affordability to better serve evolving patient needs

Greenfield, Indiana (September 4, 2019)—This September, health care will become more convenient and affordable with the debut of Gateway Hancock Health. The 30,000 square-foot facility, located at I-70 and Mount Comfort Road, will offer convenient immediate care and low-cost labs and imaging. Gateway is the first step towards a new model of patient-friendly health care at Hancock Health.

“Our team has been dreaming about Gateway for many years,” said Steve Long, president/CEO of Hancock Health. “We’re incredibly fortunate to have a forward-thinking board that saw the potential to improve health and quality of life for everyone in Hancock County—and now with Gateway, beyond.”

Increasing access to health care.

At Gateway, patients with a doctor’s referral will be able to take control of their health with a full array of affordable lab tests and imaging services. With pre-visit estimates, real-time status updates on wait times, a 36-hour turnaround time for labs and imaging, and simplified, global billing—Hancock has made it easier for people to access high-quality healthcare services. The new facility also offers “Save Your Spot” scheduling, allowing patients to monitor wait-times for immediate care appointments and an opt-in for alerts so they can make it to their visit on time.

“We don’t want patients to be surprised by their healthcare costs,” said Jenn Cox, director of operations at Gateway. “Patients will receive a pre-visit estimate so that they know exactly how much to expect for services rendered, and our health advocates will be available to assist patients in need of a payment structure.”

The vision for Gateway is to bridge the gap for any and all patients, not just those within the Hancock Health network. As healthcare costs continue to climb, Hancock is working to reduce expenses and ensure those in need of care don’t have to sacrifice quality of care.

“Gateway allows us to expand our footprint and provide first-class immediate care and high-value, affordable labs and imaging to patients outside of the Hancock Health network,” said Cox.  “We hope that offering these services allows people to put their health first—whether for preventive care, treatment of illness, or the onset of a larger health issue.”

The first step toward the future.

In the coming years, Gateway envisions a full health campus. Hancock Health currently owns 140 acres of land, and they’re working with local developers, the City of Greenfield, and Hancock County on how to best expand their footprint.

“We hope that in the future, when you come for your lab or imaging needs, a sports physical or a flu shot, that you could get your dry-cleaning done, maybe grab a bite to eat, or enjoy a beautiful walking trail,” Cox said. “We’re ecstatic about the future of health care and look forward to meeting the growing needs of our patients now and into the future.”

Gateway is located at 6189 W. John L. Modglin Drive in Greenfield and opens to the public on Monday, September 9. For more information, visit hancockgateway.org, or call (317) 866-7300. Patients can also follow Gateway Hancock Health on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
