EnterTRAINment Junction Train Display in Cincinnati

EnterTRAINment Junction announced that it will permanently close in January 2025. Visit now before it’s gone! You can find other places to see train layouts or ride real trains in this article.

My kids love trains and if there’s a place for kids to see trains anywhere near Indianapolis, we’ll find it. We’ve taken train rides with our kids, visited Mr. Muffin’s Train layout in Atlanta, Indiana and hopped aboard the little trains you can ride on in Johnson County and we finally visited EnterTRAINment Junction near Cincinnati, Ohio. There’s a GROUPON coupon available right now for EnterTRAINment Junction.

EnterTRAINment Junction Train Display

The world’s largest display of trains is just a short drive away and if your kids like trains, a visit to EnterTRAINment is a must-do! With over two miles of miniature railroad track stretching throughout the building within 25,000 square feet of hand made displays and scenery, there’s a lot to see. My kids can spend a very long time just staring at all of the miniature buildings as the trains chug by.

This layout is so intricate that you’ll see functioning lights, a hot air balloon lifting off, machinery moving, the change from night to day and there’s even real water in the waterfalls in rivers, in fact, over 1,800 gallons of water is used within the displays. There’s a fair amount of train and railroad history discovered, teaching visitors about the work of the railroad throughout history.

Our favorite spot in the building is on top of the overlook where you can see an aerial view of many of the train layouts, plus there’s a replica of the Coney Island Amusement Park circa 1965. This display is a host spot for kids and adults of all ages because of the buttons. Every parent knows the power of a button and in the Coney Island layout, kids can push buttons to power up the amusement park rides, play music and control the lights.

Be sure to grab the seek and find list before you enter, this will keep you busy for hours and help you see some of the coolest features in the displays.

Indoor Play Area at EnterTRAINment Junction

Imagination Junction is the indoor play area inside of EnterTRAINment Junction. Filled with railroad themed play opportunities, it’s the perfect stopping point to take a break after looking at half of EnterTRAINment. My kids love the large, multi-level climber playground and my little ones loved playing at all of the train tables. There’s a special area for kids who love Thomas the Train, a fun train pop up where kids can scoop coal and then there’s a whole area with working trains and buttons to push to make things move!

During the summer months, there are two outdoor train rides for kids. These open on Memorial Day weekend and close after Labor Day weekend.

A-MAZE-N Funhouse at EnterTRAINment Junction

If you purchase a Do-It-All ticket, you’ll have access to the A-Maze-N Funhouse on the other side of the EnterTRAINment building. If you like challenges, optical illusions and puzzles, this space if perfect for you! Get lost in the Mirror Maze and Curtain Chaos, laugh at yourself in Clown College and be amazed in Crazy Caper and Outer Limits.

EnterTRAINment Tickets and Admission

We bought the do it all ticket for $17.95 so we could play at EnterTRAINment and at the A-Maze-n Funhouse. Kids age 2 and under are free. Tickets for just the Train Journey are $11.95 for kids age 3-12 and seniors. Tickets for age 13 and up are $14.95.
