Warm summer air, your daughter in her favorite twirly dress, and your son dressed in his summer best all beg for a trip to a sunflower field. Some of my favorite photos of my kids have that perfect, peak-of-summer sunflower backdrop.

You will be surprised at how many places there are locally to surround yourself with these beautiful flowers. Sunflower fields seem to be literally sprouting up everywhere! Whether you’re looking for a bright bouquet for your home, a maze to explore, or a background for family photos, our favorite sunflower farms are ready to welcome you!

Conner Prairie

13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers

With more than 800 acres to explore, Conner Prairie is an Indiana destination for the entire family to enjoy. But have you seen their sunflower field? Grab your insta-worthy family photo amidst three acres of beautiful blooms. With three different sunflower varieties planted, there are approximately 111,000 sunflowers – 37,000 blooms per acre! After you have enjoyed the flowers, discover what else Conner Prairie has to offer.

Spencer Farm

7177 E 161st Street, Noblesville

The sunflower experience at Spencer Farm is a must do! They offer a huge sunflower field, as well as u-pick sunflowers, to make the perfect bouquet to take home. They also have a produce market, where you can enjoy a changing variety of seasonal produce, fresh and locally grown. The sunflower experience opens to the public Thursday, July 14, 2022. For only $5, you can immerse yourself in a field full of beautiful sunflowers, and children 3 and under are free. They also offer the option to cut your own sunflowers out of the field for $3 per stem.

P&D Flower Farm

7749 E. 1000 N, Indianapolis

P&D Flower Farm boasts an impressive field of sunflowers. They also sell these blooms for $2 per stem. You can pick a variety of other flowers at the farm, to make the perfect summer bouquet for your home. Your kids will love the U-Pick flower field experience, and learning how to trim and make a bouquet. Stop by the entrance to grab clippers and a bucket.

Tuttle Orchard

5717 N. 300 W, Greenfield

Tuttle Orchard’s sunflower field is one of the best sunflower fields. This farm has a trail cut through the stalks so you can be totally surrounded by beautiful sunflowers. The cost is $7 per person ages 2 and up, or $14 for a combo pass that includes admission to Tractor Town. When you are done checking out the field, they offer fresh sunflowers to purchase for a small fee. The sunflower field is expected to open to the public in early August. Don’t forget to stop at the café for lunch! They have locally sourced meats and produce, as well as the best apple donuts you will ever eat.

Stuckey Farm

19975 Hamilton Boone Road, Sheridan

Stuckey Farm is hosting their annual Sunflower Festival September 2- 5, and the following weekend September 9-11. Come walk through their 7 acres of sunflowers. There are over 20 different varieties to explore. There is even a forest of Mammoth and Skyscraper sunflowers that grow to be over 15 feet tall! Wea Creek Orchard

5618 S 200 E, Lafeyette

The sunflower fields at Wea Creek Orchard are in full swing by the end of July! Their large field is open to the public. Freshly picked stems, as well as a variety of locally grown produce, are available for purchase at the market on property. This year’s annual sunflower festival will be held July 29-31, from 2-6pm each day. This is the perfect summer day trip, just a short drive on the northwest side of Indy.

Beasley’s Orchard

2304 E Main Street, Danville

Beasley’s Orchard is no stranger to sunflowers, as they host an impressive sunflower festival each year. The festival dates this year are July 23-31. They offer access to the sunflower patch, fresh cut stems, and fun family games. In addition, you have the opportunity to sign up for a photography session with professional family photos taken in their patch.

Golliher Farms

17474 W. Hunnicut Road, Cambridge City

With over 75,000 sunflowers planted, this farm is worth the trip! Golliher Farms is about an hour east of Indy. They are offering a plethora of sunflowers and admission is only $5/ person. They have a great U-pick bouquet option for only $5 more, and they supply the jar, water, and snips!

Moore Road Farm

8704 Moore Road, Indianapolis

If you are looking for a variety of flower species, Moore Road Farm will be the perfect place for you and your family! In addition to sunflowers, they offer an assortment of fresh picked flowers. The best place to keep up with their events and happenings is on their Facebook page.

Anderson Flower Farm

2284 West CR 300 South, Frankfort

Anderson Flower Farm is only about 45 minutes from Indy and offers a wide variety of flowers to choose from throughout the season. When at least one adult in your party purchases a $25 or $35 flower bucket, each child in your party is able to purchase a children’s flower bucket for only $5–and the kids get to take home the entire bucket! Anderson Flower Farm is open seasonally, June through October. Public hours are Thursday-Saturday, 9 am-5pm or by appointment Monday-Wednesday. Please plan to arrive an hour prior to closing to give yourself ample time.

Dollie’s U-Pick Flower Farm

3961 N 425 East, Franklin

Located about 30 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis in Franklin, Dollie’s Lavender and U-pick Flower Farm boasts rows of mature lavender and a variety of flowers. From a field of poppies to a mint patch, there is something beautiful and colorful for everyone. This scenic farm would also be an incredible date night idea, a beautiful setting for a moms night out, a wedding or baby shower, or other special occasion.

 

Mossy Acres Flower Farm

15651 North 600 East, Flat Rock

Mossy Acres Flower Farm is a great U-Pick farm a few miles away from downtown Columbus. The farm offers stunning views of rows of flowers with vibrant colors. Other treasures include a developing pumpkin patch, a sunflower field (not for picking, but visitors are welcome to use the flowers as a backdrop for gorgeous summer photos), and more! For those who enjoy fresh flowers in their home, Mossy Acres offers seasonal subscriptions!
