Girls’ Nights Out, Indy Without Kids

It’s Spring Break in Indianapolis and whether you’re getting away or staying home, we all know that spring break with kids is a trip, not a vacation. So pick a day, grab some girlfriends, and get yourself away for a little mama-time, no kids allowed! Here are 4 ideas for fun outings with the girls!

Take a Day-Trip to Edinburgh: Scratch that shopping itch and get some good deals at the Edinburgh Premium Outlets. With high-end shops like Coach and Michael Kors as well as all the kids staples including Janie and Jack and Gymboree you can even pass it off as a back-to-school shopping trip! If you want to dine somewhere other than the outlet mall try Hickory Hills Barbecue. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but BBQ lovers drive from miles around for their tasty sandwiches and pork nachos!

Pamper Yourself: Mani-pedi dates are great, but spring break calls for something more exciting. Cryotherapy, a Float Tank Session, or maybe Laser Hair Removal or Botox? Figure out what it is that’s calling your name and make an appointment! Don’t forget to search Groupon or Living Social for deals, and check reviews before you book! Check out CryotherapyIndy for Cryotherapy and Float Tank sessions, or Simply Skin MedSpa for laser hair removal, Botox, and more!

Make Something Special: Sometimes it would be nice to produce something for the home other than a perfectly folded pile of laundry. Am I alone here? Check out this list of places to DIY something amazing. From a wooden sign to a refurbished piece of furniture, you can pick your project here. Also, check out Craft + Cork  for projects ranging from canvas painting to bar glass decorating. Some spaces even offer BYO project times where you can use their space and tools to make the craft of your choice!

Get a Room: Want to dance the night away? Heading to bed early and sleeping in late more your style? Either way, find a room and get away (without really getting away). For food, spa treatments, and a good night’s sleep try the Inn at the Villa. Want a comfy bed and a pool on the north side? Try the Renaissance Hotel in Carmel. For the luxury, nightlife, and great dining choices of downtown you can’t go wrong with The Conrad. Whatever you choose remember, it’s not a real stay-cation unless  you get your own bed!
