What a crazy-fun weekend we had at Big Splash Adventure in French Lick! This French Lick waterpark is the perfect spot for a family with kids of almost any age. In our multi-generational travel group, the school-aged kids had the most fun, followed by the adults and toddlers. The teens in our group had fun for a while but then were ready to move on to doing other activities, they didn’t seem to get the same enjoyment from the water park as everyone else.
Big Splash Adventure Indoor Water Park & Resort
We arrived one hour before the water park closed on Saturday night and hit the slides right away. It was snowing and it was so neat to watch the snow fall outside of the glassed-in water park as we were warm inside, sliding down water slides, floating in the lazy river, and soaking up heat in the adults-only hot tub. All of this was especially enjoyable because we had just spent the day skiing, snowboarding, and tubing down the slopes at Paoli Peaks. Wrapping up the day at the French Lick water park was epic.
Free Breakfast at Big Splash Water Park
On Sunday morning we woke up and had a free, hot, complimentary breakfast, available for all overnight guests at Big Splash. It was a VERY good breakfast, not just a continental breakfast! Be sure you wear your shoes and clothes to breakfast, no bare feet or swimsuits in the dining areas. For lunch, there’s a pizza place available in the resort and tables available to sit at in an overlook area above the waterpark.
French Lick Water Park
After breakfast, we jumped back into our bathing suits, checked out of our hotel rooms (the one big downside of staying at a hotel where you want to hang out throughout your final day), and headed back down to the water park. In addition to swimming before your room is available on the day you check in, guests can stay and swim after check out on their last day.
Things to do at Big Splash Adventure Resort
The Big Splash Adventure Resort offers other attractions for kids and their families. Check out SHOTZ laser tag, mini golf, and the Treasure Chest Arcade. During your stay, check out other events and activities in the area. This resort is a favorite place for families to stay when visiting French Lick for the Polar Express train ride during the Christmas holidays. A summertime trip to French Lick is also so much fun! Dare I say that this is the best hotel for families in French Lick? It’s certainly the best hotel for kids!
Big Splash Adventure Water Park French Lick
Big Splash has some very nice dressing rooms and shower facilities for those of you who are left without a hotel room after checkout. This indoor waterpark resort was just a short two-and-a-half hour drive from Indianapolis and worth every minute. Spend the weekend pretending that you’re doing a summer activity, even during the coldest days of the year. Most of the rooms sleep four people and even have BUNK BEDS (OMG!) but there are several rooms that can sleep many more than four! You just may have to purchase extra water park day passes. The room rates start at about $149 per night and I’d rank this one WELL WORTH IT!

Indoor Water Parks are the perfect mini vacation for my family! Not only are my kids obsessed with water parks, but they’ve also been disappointed numerous times by cancellations due to bad weather for planned trips. That’s why we plan day trips as well as weekend trips to this AMAZING indoor water park! Now we all count down the days until we go and never have to worry about rain! I couldn’t recommend them more!
