Foundation for Youth (FFY) Fun Fest 

Saturday, August 3, 10 am-2 pm
Foundation for Youth, 405 Hope Avenue, Columbus

The fair may have left Columbus but FFY have come to the rescue! Situated down Hope avenue, FFY are spilling their fun out onto the streets for everyone to enjoy for a family style carnival and its FREE for all to enjoy. Do bear in mind though many of the games require tickets which can be purchased for $1 each or 20 for $10.

There will be carnival games, food, cornhole, basketball, fire trucks from Columbus fire department, and so much more.

The main FFY building will be open too for you to explore and meaning there will be lots of restrooms available too. Additional parking at FFY on North Cherry Street and a shuttle will also be provided from Cummins Tech Centre North Lot.

Emerge Wrestling at Parkside Elementary

Saturday August 3, 6-10 pm
Parkside Elementary, 1400 Parkside Drive, Columbus

Light-hearted, child friendly wrestling held at Parkside Elementary school. Emerge is a professional Wrestling company in Columbus with lots of seating with great views of the ring and the wrestlers so you won’t miss any of the action!

Hang around after your favorite wrestler has been on stage and you may be lucky enough to get a photo with them!

Tickets are $10 and the doors open at 6 pm with the bell time at 7 pm.

Drive-In Movie at CERAland

If you’re anything like me, you’ll love going to the movies outdoors! Something about it just feels so summery. For the next few months (August-October) at 9 pm CERAland has a great itinerary of outdoor movies for you to enjoy. So, load your car with as many people as you can, grab a picnic, comfy chairs, some blankets, and settle in for a great family evening in the idyllic scenery.

Free Day at Kidscommons

Kidscommons, Washington Street, Columbus

Have you even been to Columbus if you haven’t visited the Kidscommons?!?! Usually its $7 per person admission but on August 4 it’s FREE for everyone. So, bring your family and come to visit this wonderful educational fun space that’s set out over 3 fun packed floors. This place is fantastic as there is something for all ages-babies to teens (and the big kids too). It’s right in the heart of Downtown too, so plenty of options for a light snack or even lunch.

Mini Mudder ¼ Mile

How good does Tough mudder look?! All that mud! Well I’ve found a mini tough mudder just for the kiddies to have a go. The event is open to children aged 5-12years and is FREE with a paid spectator ($20 in advance and $25 on the gate)

Start times are 10 am, 11 am, Noon, and 1 pm and registration is a first-come, first-served basis.

First Day of School Ice Cream Party!

Ice cream makes everything better, right? Come to the library to celebrate (or mourn) the first day of school with ice cream! There will be everything you need to make your ice cream awesome-toppings and sauces. For grades 7-12.

Fall Consignment Sale

Schools are back and Fall is starting to bump Summer out of the way, so out with the Summer clothes and in with the Fall/Winter clothes! Brand new clothes can be so expensive so go and check out the fall consignment sale to grab yourself a bargain and stock up on those all-important Winter wardrobes at a fraction of the cost. Remember it won’t just be clothes that are being sold but there’ll be shoes, toys, and books ranging from newborn all the way up to teens! 

This is also a great time to clear out the summer wardrobe and make a few bucks too by becoming a consignor!

The Mermaid Princess Tea

Tina’s Traditional Tea Room, 1702 Pennsylvania Street, Columbus

Throughout the year Tina’s Traditional Tea Room hosts a British high tea with some extra special guests, in the past they had Snow White and Belle. This time they have the one and only Princess Mermaid Ariel. 

Each adult and child ticket include an underwater themed high tea—think cucumber sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, savory and sweet pastries…yum, yum, YUM!! Also, both you and your child will get a pot of tea to help wash everything down.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet and greet, get a photo, and sing along with the princess.

Tickets are required to be purchased before the event so don’t delay getting tickets as they are limited!
