The Polar Express is pulling into Indianapolis and the IMAX Theater at the Indiana State Museum and with it brings a whole new level of excitement to this movie going experience. I’ve seen 3D movies before and I’ve done IMAX before, but nothing compares to this theater with its 6-story high screen that’s 80 feet wide. Watching the Polar Express at the State Museum feels like you are right there in the movie…so much that my youngest actually got a bit of a startle when the train appeared to be coming right at us. Watching the Polar Express has always been a holiday tradition for us, but it will be hard to top this at home. I definitely sense a new tradition in the making!

You can purchase tickets online or at the box office and show times vary throughout the month, so make sure to check the website before heading out.  Adults are $13 and kids 3-12 are $11…with the exception of the slumber party promo. The highlight of the season will start after Thanksgiving when they’ll host Polar Pajama Parties each Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. through Christmas. During these show times, hot chocolate and cookies will be available for purchase and kids who come dressed in their jammies get in for FREE with a paid adult. So, it’s definitely an affordable family activity.
