On Friday, June 21 at 4 p.m., Monument Circle will come alive with yogis of all different levels to celebrate Indy’s love for the ancient practice of yoga, the summer solstice and the International Day of Yoga. The annual Monumental Yoga event encourages new and advanced yogis, alike, to participate in Indy’s largest FREE yoga event.
Monumental Yoga is a family friendly event! Parents and their children (ages 6+) are invited to join in on the fun. A family/kid tailored routine will begin at 7:15 p.m. and run simultaneously with the main event. This unique practice will incorporate PARTNER POSES and end with a relaxing savasana – It’s truly a special and empowering bonding experience for families to enjoy together!
Participants are encouraged to arrive early for pre-event happenings in the Yoga Village. There will be live music, mini-classes, acro yoga and hooping demos and complimentary guided meditation.
Parents should bring a mat and water for themselves as well as each of their children and should plan on doing the routine by their side. Parents may also consider bringing a snack so their kids can enjoy the event in comfort.
This is a FREE event (or by-donation) organized by the Indy Yoga Movement and the perfect way to spend the evening, rain or shine. Please pre-register online (free) for Monumental Yoga 2019.
When registering for Monumental Yoga, please consider making a donation to Indy Yoga Movement, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) working through schools and organizations to empower our youth to overcome challenges and lead mindful, purposeful and healthy lives through the development of life skills using yoga, mindfulness and other awareness practices. Indy Yoga Movement helps people in communities that might not otherwise be able to afford or have access to yoga, meditation and other mindful practices.
