The web address for the Warren County, Ohio area website is pretty accurate, Ohio’s Largest Playground. Warren county is a large grouping of some of the best family attractions in all of the midwest and our family loved visiting this playground!
Where to Stay
With so much to do and see, there are plenty of places to stay but for our family full of little ones, we spent our weekend at Great Wolf Lodge. Our children adapted very well into the resort culture as they eagerly awaited story times at the clock tower, meet and greets with the mascots and delicious buffet breakfast stocked with their favorites.
Great Wolf Lodge is famous for their large indoor (and seasonally outdoor) water park. The MagiQuest game was a hit for our children and nearly every other child in the resort. Guests can purchase a magic wand and then subscribe to a multi-day game that has children racing throughout the lodge collecting clues at interactive magical areas. At 11pm, just like magic, the hallways clear of children for lights out because the games are suspended.
Where to Play
With only one weekend to play on Ohio’s Largest Playground, it was hard to decide where to go.
Part of our family spent the morning on the zipline at Ozone. Guests can zip through the trees, over the trees and even over the river. This was the perfect outing for our adventurous family.
Bonnybrook Farms is a place we won’t be able to forget. Their chuck wagon dinner tours offered a hot, delicious meal, family time on the farm visiting the animals and playing games and a fun ride down to the river where guests roast marshmallows and enjoy scrumptious cobbler.
Fort Ancient Archeological Park is a special place that was once sacred ground in the Native American culture. Children can experience life at Fort Ancient through several hands on activities, a self guided tour of the museum and by visiting the site of the mounds built over a 400 year period.
Trains are tops in our family when it comes to fun. My children are young and being allowed to ride on a very big vehicle and see their favorite book and television characters is the biggest treat they could ever imagine! L M & M Railroad is a must do for younger kids when visiting Warren County.
