Books and nature—two things that I’ve always wanted my kids to love. I love them, and I love sharing books and natures with my boys. We read everywhere, but it’s not very often we get to read a new story in the middle of the woods! But thanks to Fisher’s Parks & Recreation and the Hamilton East Public Library, your kids can enjoy nature while reading a book at the StoryWalk®. It’s not weather dependent (you can go rain or shine). And, it’s completely FREE!

Free StoryWalk in Fishers
StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson in 2007 as a way to keep kids healthy and active. The premise is book pages are laminated and posted along a trail and you follow the trail to read the story.
The StoryWalk® in Fishers is a very moderate quarter mile hike. Each month a new nature-based book will be featured. Follow the trail and read each page aloud with your child.
On the third Wednesday of each month, at 10 am, come out for the free monthly book reveal! The book reveals include hands-on nature-based activities and a guided hike with a librarian and a naturalist. I love listening to librarians read to children–it’s truly magical!
While the trail is very easy to navigate, there are parts that could be muddy, so plan accordingly when you visit.
