Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation and Indy with Kids have a paid partnership. We only work with organizations we love because we know you’ll love them too!

The Waterpark in Carmel has three nights each summer where they clear the waterpark out, spiffy up and then re-open as a 21+ waterpark for a few hours. For the 2018 season, only one night remains. On August 2nd, grab your friends, your partner or even your mom and head to The Waterpark for a night of music, water slides, lazy river lounging and beer or wine. Tickets are available online for $10 per person.

I have some tips for making the most of your night away from the kids;

Arrive early to get in line. The gate opens at about 7:45pm. At 8pm, the ropes are let down and it’s a mad dash for the cabanas. On regular days, there’s a fee for cabana rentals but on Monon Mixer nights, it’s first come first serve for this hot hospitality spot. In the cabana you’ll find a lounge chair and a few comfy, wicker-like chairs with cushions. Cabana guests have control over how loud the music from the PA is in their area and there’s a ceiling fan. The locker lets you store your belongings securely.

There are two smaller cabanas available in the back of the waterpark near the Flow Rider. These have a bar top table with chairs and are often forgotten about!

Invite friends and make it a party. Maybe even set up a group babysitting arrangement so that you can save money and your kids will have fun too! Be sure to plan ahead and get your tickets NOW. Tickets are not available the night of the event and are often sold out even before the event begins.

The concession stand is open during the Monon Mixer and they serve up a good hamburger, braut, walking taco and more. You can also have ice cream!

I was thinking a nice charcuterie tray would go really well along with the wine available for purchase at the Monon Mixer. And I should have brought one, because It’s okay to bring food and beverages in to the waterpark when you visit. You may not bring glass or alcohol. Beer and wine from local breweries and wineries are are available for purchase at the event. If you choose not to drink, you will receive a wristband that indicate this and you can have free sodas from the concession stand.

Don’t forget your bathing suit, towel and of course your ID. You will need to show your ID to the police officer at the gate before you can enter this 21+ event.
