We like to do interesting things, and visiting a local Christmas Tree Farm to cut down our own tree is one of those traditions we keep up every year. There’s nothing like wrapping up that freshly cut tree with lights and ornaments and smelling the freshness for weeks! Some of our favorite tree-lighting ceremonies use live trees too, so why wouldn’t we? When you’re all done for the season, most cities offer Christmas Tree Recycling Programs that turn your tree into mulch! Live trees are the most environmentally friendly way to celebrate with a Christmas tree.
Indiana Christmas Tree Farms Near Indianapolis
Whether you’re interested in selecting and cutting down your very own tree or purchasing one that’s already been cut, there are many choices here in Indiana. There are so many Christmas tree farms very close to Indianapolis and these are some of our favorite places to purchase a Christmas tree. The whole Christmas tree farm excursion is fun, a great learning experience, and a beautiful tradition to start or continue. We hope you’ll love it as much as we do!
I recommend that you call ahead or check the farm website to be sure they still have trees available. It takes many years for a Christmas tree to grow to maturity, so the farm might run out of trees before you get there. Many farms do bring in pre-cut trees for purchase as another option, so you can still get the holiday farm experience and take home a live tree. If you know of another wonderful farm that should be included, please email info@indywithkids.com.
