Want to get the most out of this year’s Halloween Costume? Mark your calendar for any or all of these trunk-or-treat events in the Indy area. Indianapolis has so many fall festivals and events and trunk or treats are some of our favorites. Every year we try to scope out all the local opportunities to don the costumes, snag some candy, and have fun.

Trunk or Treat Locations for Saturday, October 12

Lawrence North HS

noon-2 pm
7802 Hauge Road, Indianapolis

Bring the family out for a spooktacular trunk-or-treat event. Enjoy fun activities and of course candy while supporting the Lawrence High School community. $5 entry per child and donations are welcome.

The Arts in Autumn

2-6 pm
Midtown Plaza, Carmel

The whole family is invited to enjoy this free fall festival in Midtown Carmel. Trick-or-treating stations around the plaza and inside the nearby Indiana Design Center are just the beginning. The event also promises live music, arts and crafts vendors, giveaways, a 2 pm screening of Coco, free balloon art and glitter tattoos, a touch a truck, and more. For even more treats, saunter down to Main Street for Meet Me on Main, where participating local businesses will be handing out candy from 4-8 pm.

Lawrence Central HS Indoor Trunk-or-Treat

This event is for kids Pre-K to Grade 6, it’s 100% free, and indoors! Forget having to worry about the weather, come enjoy a costume contest, candy, games, and much more. Enter the costume contest and win prizes. Enter through door six.

Trunk or Treat at Carmel United Methodist Church

Carmel UMC is opening up its parking lot for a family-friendly trunk or treat, hosted by Cub Scout Pack 131. Come in costume for a fun evening out.

Time to get your costumes ready and join us for a night of Spooky Fun at Craig Park during Greenwood’s Monster Mash. VIP tickets are available for 4:30-6 pm admission. General Admission is FREE after 6 pm.

Fifth Annual Trunk or Treat

Join Dynamic Music Therapy for their 5th Annual Trunk of Treat! Wear costumes and have a good time. Treats, hot chocolate, games, and more! This event is sensory-friendly and will be mindful of lights, noises, and scary things, etc. This event is for all ages and abilities!

Conveniently located off of Carmel’s Main Street, Bethlehem Lutheran Church is hosting a Trunk or Treat event for the community. The afternoon promises to be full of decorations, treats, food, and games.

Hauntumn at Fort Harrison

4-6 pm
6000 N Post Road, Indianapolis

Fort Harrison State Park gets spooky for this October evening! Reddick Shelter will host Trunk or Treat from 4-6 pm. Paint a pumpkin while you’re there, then stick around for spooky stories at 6 and the Soldier’s Haunt at 7:15…if you dare! Note that guests will need to pay park admission to attend Hauntumn.

Trunk or Treat at Cornerstone Lutheran

At this safe alternative to Trick-or-Treating, children age 0-4th grade and their families go from decorated car trunk to trunk in the parking lot collecting Halloween candy and other small trinkets. This event happens rain or shine! If the weather is unfavorable, trick or treating will move inside to the church gym.

The Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area will be having an all-day Halloween event that will feature a 10am egg hunt, 12pm pumpkin giveaway//pumpkin painting activity, 3pm costume contest, 5-7pm trick or treating and a hayride from 8-10pm.

Fall Frenzy

Indianapolis Baptist Temple, 4002 E Southport Rd, Indianapolis

As a safe alternative to Trick or Treating, Indianapolis Baptist Temple invites the community to come for a perfect opportunity to dress up in your favorite costume, win candy, and have some family fun. “Fall Frenzy” is our Trunk-or-Treat style fall celebration event.

Halloween Town in Franklin

Downtown Franklin

Enjoy a whole day of fun, starting with the Halloween Hustle 5K run/walk and 1-mile family walk at 10 am. Come back at 3 pm to register your pet for the Howl-o-ween pet costume contest, which starts at 4. Finally, from 5-7:30 pm, come to downtown Franklin for trick or treating from stores and trunk or treating at the amphitheater. Check the website link to confirm times and activities.

Boo Bash

Celebrate Halloween with Fishers’ Parks at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater! Boo Bash comes to downtown Fishers with free live music and entertainment, food trucks, games and activities, and more! Come in costume to walk in the costume parade on the NPD AMP Stage. This event is free, and no registration is required.

Sat-Terror Day

Talon Stream Park, Plainfield 

Town of Plainfield’s annual Halloween event,” Sat-Terror Day Festival” will feature hayrides, music, trunk-or-treat, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist, free pumpkins (while supplies last), and other family fun activities.

Ghost and Goblins

Washington Township Park, Avon 

Ghosts and Goblins is an annual Halloween event at Avon’s Washington Township Park with a trick or treating trail featuring many local vendors/ businesses, bounce houses, a DJ, a costume contest and a haunted mini train ride. Parking will be available nearby at Harmony Baptist Church. There will be two separate age groups with entry times with 1:00-3:00pm for children ages 7 and under and 3:00-5:00pm for children 8 and up.

Krannert Park Trunk or Treat

1-2 pm
Krannert Park Parking Lot, 605 S High School Road, Indianapolis

Wear your favorite costume to Krannert Park and get ready for a spook-tacular time! Registration for this event opens on October 1. There’s an unlimited number of spots open for guests, but be aware there is a small fee to participate. Kids can expect decorated car trunks, plenty of treats, and other Halloween activities.

Trunk or Treat at College Park Church

2-4 pm
2606 W 96th St, Indianapolis
College Park Church hopes to see the neighborhood community come out for their Trunk or Treat event! Wear your favorite costume and have some fun at this free, family-friendly event.

Trunk or Treat at KidStrong Carmel

3-6 pm
13744 N. Meridian St, Carmel

Members and non-members alike are invited to this free outdoor event held in the KidStrong Carmel parking lot that will feature an obstacle course, activities, games and candy and treats from local businesses. There will be a special appearance from the local fire station from 3:30 t0 4pm.

CarniFall at Independence Park

4-6 pm
Independence Park, 2100 S Morgantown Rd, Greenwood

The community is invited to Carni-Fall at Independence Park to play on the adaptive playground, enjoy a StoryWalk, candy stations, carnival games, a bounce house, and more. Costumes are allowed. No age restrictions. No cost to attend.

Gym or Treat

4-6 pm
Gibson Athletics Center, 10710 Pendleton Pike Suites C-D, Indianapolis

Weather isn’t a worry for this trick-or-treating event. Activities will be held indoors in the Gibson Athletics Center’s gym. You can also head back outside for a touch-a-truck experience with local fire, EMS, and police vehicles. Wear your best costume to participate in the contest!

Trick or Treat Trail

4-8 pm
Anson Acres Park, 4671 Anson Blvd, Whitestown

The Whitestown Trick or Treat Trail is a free, open-house-style event where local businesses and organizations will pass out candy along the trail. After trick-or-treating for candy from local businesses, attendees can roast s’mores over a bonfire and go through the spooky woods.

Trail and Treat on the Canal

5-7pm
Downtown Canal, Indianapolis

Trick and treat along 1.5 miles of the downtown Indianapolis Canal that will also include visits with Colts Cheerleaders and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and Fire Departments, a costume contest, face paintings, activities with the Indiana State Museum and the Indiana Historical Society, and more. Afterwards head to the Eiteljorg Museum for free admission until 7pm for their Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration.

Trail and Treat at Williams Park

5 – 7 pm
Williams Park, 940 Locust Lane, Brownsburg

Head to Brownsburg for a safe Trail and Treat with local businesses and organizations at Williams Park.

Scamahorn Park Trunk or Treat

6-8 pm
Scamahorn Park, US 136, Pittsboro

Trunk or treat your way through Scamahorn Park! Wear your Halloween costume to participate in the costume contest. Bring your pup for a dog costume contest of their own!

Scares on the Square

Downtown Danville Historic Square

The Danville Historic Square will be hosting their annual Scares on the Square event that will feature a trunk or treat, inflatables, local vendors, games and giveaways. Also check out all of the scarecrows that were decorated by local organizations.

HalloweenFest

Jimmy Nash Park, 360 N Home Ave, Martinsville

Join friends and neighbors in Martinsville as this event returns for its third year. HalloweenFest is held in Martinsville’s Jimmy Nash Park and trick-or-treating is free.

Trunk or Treat at Christ Indianapolis United Methodist Church will take place on Sunday, October 27 from 3-5 pm! Free Admission! Free food! Free games! Be sure to bring your best costume and all your friends!

Town of McCordsville Trunk or Treat

4-6 pm
Outlook Church, 6531 N 600 W McCordsville

Trunk-or-Treat is an annual event for kids and parents. Vehicles are decorated and the kids can go from car to car for treats. There will be games and prizes for the best-decorated vehicle.

Annual Fall Celebration Trunk or Treat

Come as you are! Dressed in costume or everyday wear, Orchard Park Presbyterian Church will be glad to celebrate the season of fall with you. Enjoy trunk or treat, games and activities, food, and a raffle.

Trunk-Or-Treat at Castleton Christian

Families with children ages birth through 6th grade are invited to dress up in costume and collect candy at this free INDOOR trunk-or-treat event. No need to worry about the weather when you can gather candy rain or shine!

Free Trunk or Treat! at Castleton UMC

7101 N Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis

Bring your kids to show off your costumes at the free and safe Trunk or Treat at Castleton United Methodist Church. There will be tons of cars lined up in the parking lot decorated for Halloween and smiling faces ready to hand out candy and treats.

Halloween Bash at the Garage Food Hall

906 Carrollton Avenue, Indianapolis

The Garage Food Hall will have a special Halloween Bash with live entertainment, trick-or-treating, tarot card readings, face painting, activities like decorate your own trick or treat bag and spooky games like Hide the Skeleton and Guess the Pumpkin Weight. Participating vendors will also be offering kids meal deals for children 12 and under.

Avon Town Hall Trick or Treating

The Town of Avon will again be hosting a town hall trick or treating event on Halloween. Each department will have some fun treats to hand out. The event is sensory friendly to those with special sensory needs or cognitive disabilities and medical-related impairments. The event will have very low music, bright rooms with plenty of light, and quiet atmosphere for all.

Glow Trick or Treating

Pecar Nature Center, Avon

The Pecar Nature Center will have a grand opening of the Glow Lab. This event will feature the unveiling of the Glow Lab with glowing creatures and candy. 

Halloween Boo Bash at the Amp

1220 Waterway Blvd., Indianapolis

Head out to the Amp on Halloween, where the vendors will be handing out candy to kids and will be offering special kid’s menu options.

Scare on the Square

4:30-7:30pm
Virginia Ave., Fletcher Place/Fountain Square 

Trick or Treat at the participating businesses at Fletcher Place/Fountain Square with bright orange signs in their windows.  Maps and activity books can be found at the Fountain Square Plaza (1110 Virginia Ave) or The Recess (638 Virginia Ave).

28th Annual Safe Halloween Night at the Indiana State Fairgrounds

5-7pm
Champions Pavillion, Indiana State Fairgrounds 

The Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center along will offer a safe Halloween event trick or treating event. There is no cost for admission or parking.

No Trunks Just Treats at the Center at Northview Church

5-8 pm
623 N State Road 39, Danville

The Center, a free indoor playground at Northview Church in Danville will be having a Halloween event that will feature inflatables on the turf, crafts, each child will get a treat bag filled with Candy and more.

Monrovia Fire Department Drive Thru Trunk or Treat

5-8 pm
450 N Chestnut St, Monrovia

The Monrovia Fire Department will be hosting a drive thru trunk or treat at the Monroe Township Fire District.

Clayton Liberty Township Public Library Trick or Treat

6-8 pm
5199 Iowa St, Clayton

On Halloween night trick or treat inside the Clayton Liberty Township Public Library.

 

Children receive candy from a costumed volunteer at a local Trunk or Treat event.
