Update for Summer 2017: Lakeview Church will no longer offer community play hours at their indoor playground. Check out our list for other indoor playgrounds your family can enjoy!
Are the couch cushions only going so far as climbing entertainment for your child? Have your kids been begging for a park or even just a slide that is bigger than what fits in your living room? Lakeview Church on the corner of Rockville Road and 465 offers a FREE to the public indoor playground for all ages to enjoy. A swirly slide, a ‘fast’ slide, a shaky bridge, a rock wall and even a Little Tikes Tree House for the babies and toddlers gives kids of all ages something to enjoy and burn off a bit of energy! The set-up of the playground allows parents and caregivers easy access to assisting their child while playing, while a few benches allow parents of the more independent child the ability to easily supervise the child playing. There is even a restroom in the playroom area for those quick potty breaks. The Lakeview Church playground is generally quiet and not busy at all. My son even had his Physical Therapy First Steps appointments here a few times. This facility is a wonderful place for practicing and learning climbing stairs, crawling through tunnels and going “wheee” down the variety of slides. The playground is opened Monday-Thursdays from 8am-5pm, closed on Fridays. Park in the front of the church and head into Entrance 8. Entrance 8 is on the left, front corner of the church behind the ¾ brick partitioned wall. Head through both double doors and turn right, walk down the ramp and all the way to the lobby. You will see “God’s Backyard” straight ahead, turn right behind the desk and you made it! Have fun and enjoy burning off some energy with lots to do! Children should wear comfortable shoes. It is advised that you call ahead to be sure there are no closures for weather or other reasons. (317) 243-9396
