When I think of summer and warm weather, I immediately think of all of the summer fun in the water — waterparks, swimming pools, water slides, and splash pads.

We’re laying down the info on the best Indy area water parks and a few that are worth the drive! Add these cool hot spots to your summer list of things to do in Indy.

Indianapolis Area Water Parks

Freedom Springs Water Park

750 W. Stop 18 Rd., Greenwood
This south side of Indy water park has a lazy river, lap pool, zero-depth entry activity pool with a play zone for children, three huge water slides (two body slides and a tube slide), diving boards, a lily pad crossing, and a drop slide. Play all day and enjoy a plethora of options at the concession stand. Purchase a seasonal soda fountain cup and get $1 refills all summer long!  Cabana and shelter rentals are available for the full days and half days. Purchase a punch pass to save money, and summer memberships are available. The Greenwood waterpark is one your kids will want to visit again and again.

The Waterpark in Carmel at the Monon Community Center

1235 Central Park Drive East, Carmel
This Carmel water park has elements that are sure to excite the whole family. The world-famous FlowRider® is the best place in Indiana to get that surfer experience. Scale the wall and reach the top of the AquaClimb®, splash around in the zero-depth pool with a large playground activity area, swim in the lap pool, enjoy the brand new activity area in the kiddie pool, relax on the lazy river, get your adrenaline rush on the plunge slide, challenge your friends on the lily pad course and race down one of two water slides. Added bonus, your admission includes access to other on-site amenities. Concessions available. Food and coolers are allowed in the designated grass area only. There are even special adult nights at the waterpark.

Splash Island Water Park

651 Vestal Rd, Plainfield
This west-side water park is a favorite place to beat the heat all summer long. Splash Island has extended evening hours one night each week, perfect so families can enjoy the fun even when the sun is going down. Try all three water slides, splash your friends at the water playground with a tipping bucket in the zero-depth entry kiddie pool, take a float around the winding river, fight the current in the two pulsating vortexes, dive into the competition pool, play a game of hoops at the water basketball court and enjoy the other play areas. Concessions available, outside food permitted.

Murphy Aquatic Park

753 South CR 625 East, Avon
Murphy Aquatic Park in Avon is fun for everyone, specifically designed with accessibility in mind. The entire central play structure is handicap accessible, with features above and below for various play opportunities. An anonymous donor has provided water wheelchairs for both adult and child use, and these are available to anyone who may need to use them on a first-come, first-served basis. The waterpark also features a wave pool, two waterslides, a dumping bucket, basketball hoops, and zero-depth entry pools. There’s a concession stand on site, cabanas are available to rent, and sensory-friendly swim hours are currently offered on Tuesday mornings throughout the summer!

Franklin Family Aquatic Center

396 Branigin Blvd, Franklin
This south-side aquatic center has two water park-like features; a large slide and a fun activity playground in the zero-depth entry pool. Add the huge, colorful umbrellas, packed social calendar, and sunshine, and you’re in a water-filled haven. The Franklin water park is a blast and will keep you cool this summer.

The Splash House in Marion

2601 S Adams St, Marion, Indiana
The Splash House is just an hour away from Indianapolis and offers so much fun for kids (and adults) of all ages. Features include a lazy river, a children’s water play area with slides, giant water slides (including a bowl slide), and a wave pool!

Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center

802 W. Park Ave., Kokomo
Kokomo Beach has family fun for all ages in the form of a leisure pool, a competition pool, and a lap pool. Get your thrills aboard the Slide Tower which has both a tube and a body slide. Little ones can take their own ride on the kiddie-sized slide and splash pad play area and your whole family can relax on the lazy river.

Pine Lake Waterpark

4640 W State Rd 218, Berne, IN

High jump areas, adventure slides, racer slides, tube slides, and more, all in a lake! This lake waterpark has a soft sandy beachfront and a splash pad for the kids. Everyone loves a trip to Pine Lake Waterpark.

Seashore Water Park

130 E Ulen Dr, Lebanon
This beloved local waterpark in Lebanon has all your family’s favorite water features! Float on the lazy river, splash in the wave pool, catch a ride on one of two waterslides, or play in the activity pool with zero depth entry. Coolers and outside food are not allowed, but a reasonably priced concession stand is available on-site.

Deep River Water Park

Deep River Waterpark in Crown Point is a traditional water park amusement park. It has a wave pool, body slides, a tube, river rides, speed slides, cannon bowl rides, a play area, and even more water attractions.

River Run Family Water Park

224 W Daisy Lane, New Albany, IN

River Run Family Water Park in New Albany has a lazy river with tubes for floating, four different water slides, including a bowl slide, a zero-depth entry pool with a steamboat-themed activity area, and a shallow toddler play area and splash pad. There’s a concession area and lots of seating and deck chairs. This New Albany water park is one of the best things to do in southern Indiana.

Tropicanoe Cove

1915 Scott St, Lafayette, IN

A number of thrilling elements make this a fun water park in Lafayette, including a twisting tube slide called the Banana Peel and a slide with several steep drops, as well as a mat racer slide where riders can race their friends. There’s a lazy river and fun play areas for kids. Tropicanoe Cove is located within Columbian Park.

Splashin’ Safari Water Park at Holiday World

Splashin’ Safari Waterpark at Holiday World is just one part of your visit to the Holiday World theme park. With your admission to Holiday World, you’ll also have admission to Splashin’ Safari, free soft drinks, free parking, free sunscreen, and free wifi. Prophetstown State Park Aquatic Center

5545 Swisher Road, West Lafayette
Prophetstown State Park is an Indiana State Park gem. The property has a fantastic aquatic center that’s a hot spot all summer long. Guests enjoy amenities like the tube slide, a body flume, a lazy river, an adventure area, and a zero-entry pool with a children’s play area.
